One of my best friends from high school is in NY for the summer while he is a working at a real estate law firm. I am excited that he is so close because he attends law school in Michigan. Last night, I went to see him in an apartment that he rented that is located in Columbia University housing. He introduced me to his roommate for the summer and we walked around the campus.

I felt stupid just being on the campus but then he talked about the accomplishment of our classmates. I know he is proud of our class on a whole because we were the misfits that all the teachers hated but we are still succeeding. I always felt the dumbass and unmotivated one and his excitement wasn't helping. He could sense it and he tried to make me feel better. But when you graduate with people that moved on to doing a PhD in Robotics or is doing graduate work at MIT or had the opportunity to turned down a offer from a Supreme Court judge to clerk for them, getting a degree in library science doesn't seem like an accomplishment.

I need to remember that I am doing what I want do with me my life and it may not sound as impressive as my classmates accomplishments, but I will be happy (I hope). smile
