These would have been posted here yesterday and Friday, but I was on an airplane from Pittsburgh to Madison, having just run between Shadyside and the South Village Mall seeking a new battery for my laptop, the original of which did a slow-motion explosion like a time-relese S'more. My moment was more midwest and more American. Mellencamp did that for me. Scarecrow spoke to my recognition for the collapse of middle american agriculture during the Reagen/Bush years. It also set this longing for me to go someplace else, and see the world and change. It set my feet on a path.

A very special convention is happening this summer.

Ziggurat Con, being held June 9 from 1200 to 2100 hours at Camp Adder/Tallil Airbase, in Iraq, is open to all allied military personnel and civilian contractors in Iraq.

This is the first gaming convention EVER to be held in a War Zone.

Full details and a picture of some of the organizers can be found here...
