A lot of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines from this generation hold onto a romantic notion of sacrifice and Patriotism. I'm one of them, I pass no judgement. In a very real world/real politick sort of way, I wish I could pass judgement. The real world seems to embrace those that can do this more. However, one of our greatest faults, is that we hoped to fight our grandfathers war and ended up fighting our fathers, and we hoped to do so with our Grandfathers muse beside us. However, the level of superficiality that we have seen makes our fathers muse seem some how fantastical in their depth.

The remembered first voices of our War will speak in generalizations and neo-sarcastic academics about the failures, successes and emotion involving the post 9/11 conflicts. We're a decade deep and we speak softly in dark bars with people we trust, others like us; and we all say the same thing. We were hoping to fight our Grandfathers War, and we ended up fighting our Fathers. The greater failure is that we hoped to date/marry our Grandfathers muse and not our fathers. But I'm curious if Grandma would have gone two knuckles deep in the ol' brown eye while she sucked started your morning. Who knows, maybe you could even talk her into a 3 way. We're a generation of men raised by women Chuck; this is true and we want more than what they had. Sexual liberation, blended up with a shot of protein and an intellect that'll keep us on our toes, curious to see what...
