Yesterday was the best night out for a long time. I went to see a burlesque show - my first burlesque experience! - with some guys and girls from work. So much fun, we all really enjoyed it. It was the fabulous Miss Polly Rae and her Hurly Burly Girls - all super-hot and super-talented. Go see them if you have a chance!
Plus we saw a couple of minor celebrities - a very pregnant and surprisingly short Denise van Outen, accompanied by Max Beesley; plus the legendary Tony Robinson from Blackadder and Time Team, at whose feet I might have fallen at and worshipped, had it not been a) at the urinals, and b) potentially embarrassing for all concerned.
So no gym today on account of slight soreness round the fringes of my brain... but there's always tomorrow.

Insomnia again. The house is quiet, the girls are sleeping. A tiring day, but mentally not physically, and the book I read in bed was not enough to bring me down and stop my mind buzzing. Tomorrow, I must be sharp and focussed, and concentrate hard. Something's gotta give.
Tasks for today:
1 - cook chicken vindaloo
2 - make dhokla (gujarati steamed lentil cake of spicy awesomeness)
3 - iron shirts
4 - tidy house
Not gonna happen.. where does the holiday go?

Rhubarb crumble might just be the greatest invention since, err, beer. If it could get you drunk, it would be perfect.
One hour of samba, two hours of capoeira. Legs and arms are hurting.
My brain abuzz with charts and tables, ticks and equations. The beer is not cooling it down. Time for a book - come in Quicksilver your time is up.

Sweaty from the gym, and a sore arm from scrubbing crayon off the chairs. A glass of wine, a bite of millionaire's shortbread, and the weekend starts (quietly) here...
I need to get back to reality. It's all a mess.
(apart from the pay rise, that is. But there are more important things than money.)

New job, more money, more hours. So far, so good, but the fight or flight response has never been busier.
And the women in my life? What are they doing?
