Well it has been a bit...but I am still here. I have been fighting depression like crazy...tired, irritable, and just angry at the world. Not a good way to be, I know. I do have "chemical depression" so I am used to having depressive episodes and getting through it and dealing with it. This time is different though..this time has reasons and that makes it far harder for me to fight it. I HATE not being in control of the things around me...and the physical reactions to the depression don't help any. I am sore and exhausted and the fybro is kicking my ass....
Oh well...enough whining....
I am doing bobbin lace again, and that feels good. I got asked to do a garter for a friend who is getting married next summer. I have to get my ass in gear to get it done. She is a skinny thing, but even if her thigh is only 18 inches around, I still have to triple that number to get a good gather effect for the garter. I am also starting a research project for the SCA (and myself) on the history of dolls. I don't collect dolls, but I love to make them and I am the superintendent for the doll division at our fair. I got a bug to find out about how dolls got started, and I was asked to do it as a project...so here I go. I may not be able to deal with housework, bills, and people, but I can lose myself in a project.... ahhh! escapism!
Here's one of the dolls I have made. This one is needlefelted wool...I am currently making him a witch companion
