...join me at AT&T Park on the evening of Thursday, June 20th to see the Giants host the Marlins.

The choir that my son is a member of will be performing the National Anthem that night. As some of you may recall, he sang it at the park for the first time last year and the result was that Matt Cain threw the Giants...

June 13th, 2012, A.T. & T. Park.

Jake, my 14 year old son, sings in a local youth choir and they were invited to sing the National Anthem ahead of the San Francisco Giants hosting the Houston Astros, an annual affair that this choir has been involved with for a few years. Being a baseball kook I naturally was thrilled. My little sister was visiting...

The word for hand plane (woodworking tool) in Japanese is Kanna. A kanna is made up of at least two parts; a main blade (or iron) and a wooden body that holds the main blade, which is called the Dai. A loose translation of the word dai might be holder. In the last two or three hundred years two more parts have been added, a...

At 11:03 on the morning of April 14th, 1998, a boy was born into my waiting hands under the 104 degree water of a portable birthing pool in our bedroom at the back of our over 200 year old house on the day that the buds on the trees first began bursting into leaf on 37 Prospect Street, Newburyport, Massachusetts. His mother labored in the...

other than padillas effort where was our bullpen this opening series? your call on aceves seems to be right on.

i am hopeful that with the injuries healing (becketts thumb) and the rotation being sorted out (dice-k /bailey returning)we will improve.

Thank you so much. smile I'm not sure I feel 'legitimate' yet. Har har. Bit more time needed in the oven I think. I certainly thought I'd feel older by the time I hit 30, but strangely, I still feel very green. Oh well. It's good to feel young, no?

And that sunrise picture is brilliant! There's something so uplifting about a beautiful sky. Experiencing them always calms my anxieties a little.

I look forward to hearing more about your time in Japan. I love the severity of a master craftsman. Now they're people who understand discipline.

I very sorry for your loss. Mr. Miyano Dai Endo sounds like he was a wonderful man.

He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman.
He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist.
