Hey,
Saw you on the boards. If you want to be a writer bad enough keep after it and you can do it. But you have to give yourself the greenlight, not get it from anyone else. When it comes down to the crucial moments that give birth to art, writers are always on their own.
My advice; seek out teachers and training. Read everyday, and write every day. I had a poetery teacher who said you have to read and understand a hundret poems for every one you try to write, and that feels like a good number to me. Get used to solitude. And read everything you write out loud to yourself.
