Things are going really well for me, except I have to go wait in the social security office today for probably hours to finally get my name changed. What a pain in the ass changing your name is. But I go by my new name at work now, and I am really liking the sound of it. My initials are now KDK. Everyone who thinks they are original and hilarious tells me I should change my middle name from Dawn to Kaitlin or something of the sort. HAHAHAHA the KKK IS SO FUNNY. Dorks.
I voted, and I'm damn glad I did. I had moved, so my address was not updated, but my party sent me a notice letting me know if I went to the county election office by 8pm on Tuesday I could still vote. I didn't think I could, and I was upset, because there were lots of measures I wanted to vote NO!! on. Like the teenage abortion notification bullshit. I will always vote no on laws that lets the government have power and intrude that much on people's private lives. Yuck.
I have mixed thoughts/feelings about the democrats gaining more control. On one hand, I feel it is a victory, and we have finally showed all those bible belt freaks that they don't get all the say. On the other hand, I am apprehensive that the democrats won't do any better of a job running our country, and will just bungle everything up worse, since, after all, they are lousy politicians no matter what party they associate with. Here's to hoping for the best.

My wedding is getting closer and closer, and everything seems to be falling into place. My honey and I are researching places to stay all up and down the Oregon Coast- it's so beautiful, I wish I had a month to explore, but alas, only about 1 week. Hopefully in a year or two we can take the real honeymoon of our dreams, and go to Ireland for 2 weeks. That would be divine.

I got promoted at work, and am now a senior sales rep. Which means I get a raise and more responsibilities. It's good because I am being recognized at work for my good hard working qualities, and am one step closer to getting promoted right out of retail.
It's bad because right before they told me I was thisclose to quitting and going to school full time and getting a part time job. Now I have put that on hold until at least hold to see what develops out of this.
I am way into weddings, since I am still sorta engaged. No ring yet, but that's only because my boy doesn't have a job yet. Might by week end. I have told him as soon as he gets the call that he is hired we are going out to buy my damn ring. We talk about babies and buying houses together, and also taking vacations and having hot sex. I love him.
I still like living in Portland, and I have made many friends at work. Don't really feel like I've met anyone yet that is a great friend, except for my gay boss. I adore him, but, he's my boss. So as soon as he's not my boss anymore we can party down. We kind of do anyway, but we're not supposed to.

I completely forgot I wrote it! I wrote it while I was drunk, it seems. So, instead of a normal journal update, I will now give you:

Christmas is over, the tree is already down. I work New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Nice! I get to party it up. Work is so weird- I got 5 days off to go visit my family, and now have to pay for it by working 9 days in a row. *dies*
okay, so I don't hate Christmas and the holidays. I love them. I got my tree last weekend and decorated my house, and it looks gorgeous. I don't want to take it down, ever!!
I have the best boss in the world- I told him what I wanted to do within the company, and he is so supportive.
