I had these two dreams, one after the other, and it was kinda like if Harry Potter caused a zombie war. Here it goes...

Dream 1:
There's this Harry Potter like event going on in an enclosed theme park similar to the one at in the middle of Mall of America. I have to sneak in to retrieve or give something...I don't quite remember what....

Stress has been following me into my dreams. It stalks and taints my nights into half sleep and a quarter awake. The other quarter is missing, so I've been a bit short of a dollar.

Change, change, change, where does all the change go? 'Cause it still all the same, and damn it, I really could use another quarter.

Thy just text messaged me. She...

I can't sleep, and I have some serious cravings for lox. MMmmm, lox.
jayenh:
Why has no one left you a comment? And more importantly, why haven't I? Bah. Bad friend!

Hope the math (or ...?) is going well.
squee_:
Lox sounds so good right now. Yum.

New post, way past due! Oh, I also ended up loving graph theory, and even now, I'm enamored with it.

I'm jobless. I'm a bum. I spend my days reading...a lot...because books are easy to get my pauper hands on. Then I go impress people with my bizarre knowledge. I feel pathetic and enlightened all day; it's just a tiny bit sick.

I didn't read Poe in the 3rd grade, but that's because I skipped 3rd grade. However, I'm pretty sure I was reading him in 2nd grade.

I had a bunch of those excellent old Dover anthologies. Something like this for example: http://store.doverpublications.com/0486428443.html

There was a classic Dover series of anthologies of mystery stories, suspense stories, adventure, so on. That's where I read "The Most Dangerous Game," for example. And probably "The Monkey's Paw." And so on. smile

I could have lent you a copy of the McGraw Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology ... I pretty much memorized the thing before I was 12 anyway.

I can't stop thinking about how much I hate graph theory.

I had some mushrooms lying around from a previous meal so I tossed them in. Also I sauteed the onions for a bit, then added the shrooms, then the garlic, before adding the broth. I prefer the flavor that way.

I cook several times a week, and we eat leftovers the rest, which is to say that unless we eat out or order, I'm the cook.

I think I made a pineapple upside down cake 15 or 20 years ago or something. Sure, fire away with your recipe. smile That reminds me of this awesome recipe in the older Joy of Cooking for a pineapple souffle, involving macaroons. I don't know if the current edition still has it.

I love the new photo.

Also, if a girl had quoted T.S. Eliot to me back in college, that would have been it! Stalker time! (Or true love.)

Actually there was this girl who did swap some Eliot references with me back then, and I kept track of her for a couple of decades afterward.

she moves like honey
golden in her glory
viscous to the vision
sweet in her sensuality

her texture tantalizes my every taste
and i am handed to her helplessly
my mind becomes muddled by her movements
and i let go of lust to look for love.

she makes me a bee
buzzing to her boundlessly
fiercely flying to her flower
addicted to her aphrodisiac

I love Nintendo.

Fuck PS3. Stupid boys in my group don't know shit about technological innovation outside of bragging rights. What a waste of money.

Nick asked me why it bothered me when males think I don't know anything tech related, and I responded, "because I love it--anything technological--I love it all."

We brainstormed methods to map random directional walking while in a stationary position....

I only learned programming in Pascal and evolved into a technological failure. I'D probably be happy simply to listen to you and to tell you that as far as I understood (which is not a distance measured in parsec) you are right... LOL! wink

I have a few female friends who are totally into gear. Well, at least significantly into it. smile

I was at a friend's house tonight (note the late hour ... I drove home 1-1/2 hours at 1:30 in the rain ...) and we were cracking up at the blender videos. biggrin

Hope your winter break will be a good one!

Holy crapzoid, I'm a grader for two math classes. It's rare for a first time grader to get two different classes, and so I'm a little flattered. Technically I was hired by Prof Miracle, and that in it self is awesome. That name may not mean anything to anyone who hasn't had a class by him, but he's still be best damn math teacher ever....

I think I'm probably going to get that uber U-lock and then some auto tow chain for the wheels. But it's unlikely I'll keep it on the bike that often because the bike is going to be with me or in sight or indoors all the time from now on.

There is a special spot in Hell for bike thieves.

Cheers. Nice hearing from you!

jayenh:
PS - I never once carried a chain or lock on my previous bike ... and umpteen years later I still have it. It's early 90s chromoly technology though. I think I forgot that I basically never ever left the bike outside. Oh well.

Bugger off Brownian motion; Fermat and Euler are in the closet, and their actuarial present value(APV) blows.

Ah, my sexy avatar pic! It's a photo by Noboyushi Araki, who is bar none the greatest living Japanese photographer (listen to me pontificate!) - if you don't know his stuff, order a copy of Tokyo Lucky Hole or check out the wonderful documentary about his utterly amazing life, Arakimentari.

Yes!

That's a cute profile pic. Wonder how long it took me to notice.

It's raining and thundering outside; man, I love me some lighting. I like sitting on my porch in this kind of weather and to listen and watch the girls squeel and run in the down pour. This kind of stuff makes me happy. <3

That is one creepy-ass cereal box.

Awesome. I was afraid she didn't like me too much. I told her I though her boy was clingy. Which he is, but I thought I may have insulted her.

Talon, the girl you danced with, is a really awesome person. Her ass is the best I've ever seen. I want to bite it. Definitely come back sometime, especially early during the weekend. I think Talon works fridays.

Dammit, I wish you weren't poor, so we could give you a bazillion hot sexy lapdances. whatever
