The inevitable anticlimax: about 20 folks turned out, not bad for word-of-mouth promotion of an ill-defined Wednesday night artsy 'event', and everybody seemed to actually enjoy themselves. I actually liked how it turned out myself, and besides, that gnawing feeling in the pit of my stomach is gone.

Basically. it was a live monologue that we taped in front a miraculously sympathetic audience for later use on my (mostly spoken-word) radio show. Most of the stress came from:

1) me not being used to any level of preparation -- too much like writer's block meets the actor's nightmare, and
2) not being used to doing any of this in front of people that I can actually see.

So, it turned out alright. And I'm glad to have friends who basically pushed me into doing it.

Next: me with a stripper's pole. Bring the family.
