worst spring break EVER! frown mad

Without any money or insurance to use my car or do anything cool, I am now back in Fresno for a week. Staying at my dad's place isn't all bad, though it reminds me very clearly why I left.

I just got back from the dentist, who gave me a filling, so my whole left lower jaw is numb and sore,...

The war has started.

Yesterday I went to the anti-war protests to shut down downtown SF. I had a great time, even though I got arrested. I know we may have angered some bystanders, but this war can't just go on while we're sitting comfortably at home. I have no regrets. We may not have stopped this war, but our opposition may yet derail the...

Wow, I'm still hungover .... one of my friends had her 21st birthday last night, so she and a few friends and I went out and got trashed. And I didn't have to pay for it either; this guy I'm worried is her boyfriend bought the rounds for everyone. Whatever.

My finals are over and spring break is now in effect. I'm going home for...

So now Bush says he'll go to war tomorrow night, nevermind the world. I just realized it's wroing to compare Bush to Hitler, he's more like Captain Ahab. And my protest options will be severely limited by my final exams, so I may not be able to go to SF for the big day-after action.

tony blair and john howard (the other dupes in the coalition of the weak-willed) are so screwed. their countrymen aren't going to put up with their toadying, i should hope.
the only upside to this is that canada's looking saner by the day. it's the only sizeable english-speaking nation that isn't run by infants who are determined to piss in other people's sandboxes.

in other news...
i don't think there is much eroticism in amateur porn in general. production values are essential to create an actual mood; get a bunch of shiny bodies wriggling together under a single flash bulb or spotlight and it's just gonna look like crap, no matter how attractive the actors might be. i have on occasion toyed with the idea of a little camerawork with my man, but i think watching it would just make me cringe, at best laugh.

I always thought of Blue Lagoon as more of a bar. I see so many tranies there all the time, it makes me smile.

Kind Grind is in the Yacht Harbor right next to the Crow's Nest. Heather (the owner) is THE BEST PASTRY CHEF EVER!!!!

Cabrillo liquors is on Soquel on the way to Cabrillo College. They'll special order you anything they don't have.

Pacific Ave. Pizza is damn good. They make a killer chicken, artichoke heart and red onion pizza. Actually, after writing that comment I realized that Pleasure Point Pizza on 41st Ave. is the best.

Figured I'd copy and paste this for ya! smile

Don't you just hate it?
- when you fall asleep in class
- and you start to snore
- and it distracts everyone
- and it's so loud that you wake yourself up, and when you do it's to the sight of all your classmates looking at you with knowing grins ....

Ahhh, Friday. What the weekend holds in store for us all .... (looks...

"There was music in the cafes at night
and Revolution in the air ...."

What better way to finish an evening with a meeting of my anarchist (de)programming collective than going to a cafe to hear some great music,

Tonight was a band called Estradasphere, which is a local group that plays a wild mix of jazz, folk, rock, Gypsy, beatboxed jungle, and plenty more....

In relation to the link posted in previous comment on PETA message board.

oh please, that was a issue of irresponisble people doing an irresponsible thing. PETA along with many other animal rights groups WOULD know better then to set 6,500 captive mink lose on a british country side. What they are trying to do is give these animals a better living condition till they do die and to stop breeding them so that it will put a stop to it once and for all. These people know that, that many mink set lose in an isolated area would be a disaster. In controled populations and in large enough areas to satisfy their need for food a WILD mink is no more vile than a bear, puma, rat, or elk. It's a wild thing it should remain that way. IN THE POPULATION THAT MOTHER NATURE INTENDED. Not 6,500 mink set lose by a bunch of uneducated hippies.

Messing with your head?! ME?! NEVER!!!! Heehee. wink

No, seriously, one of them is in the arnachist group. I just smoke way too much pot and I can never remember a damn thing. Eh, *shrugs*............

Today there was an international student day of protest against the war on Iraq, and here in Santa Cruz we had a pretty big event on campus. It wasn't as well attended as I would have hoped, but it was still pretty cool. It looks like the war's gonna start in less than a month, and the protests are escalating too.

As the rally was...

i have now been alive long enough to see the effects of the law of returns i.e. those who do not remember the past are doomed to repeat it. i can't believe the govt is getting ready to send more young people into a foreign nation to kill and die for the cause of shoring up a crumbling economic structure.

but people are definitely pissed off. maybe this will be some kind of pinnacle, and the critical mass of revolutionary change will be called into action.

i had to come and check your profile, bcs your name is similar to the name of my street, which happens to be in paris. and then i see you have visions of living here. have you been here before? i have been here for 7 months but i go home soon. it is a strange place, and if you have any interest in existentialism, lemme give you my impressions some time.

I wanted to go to that, sadly I cannot walk out of work. However, I did manage to drop a tray piled with dirty glasses on the floor right in front of god and everyone watching. I felt the rumble, then the shifting of weight, then the glasses clinking, and down it all went. Yeah, whole restaurant turns and looks at me. I did what anyone would have done, did a little bow and announced my first official breaking of dishware, then ran off into the back room to find a mop. I may not have been at the rally (I was there in spirit), but I broke dishes most likely made in China... so damn the man!

I hear ya on the paper thing, that'a all I seem to be doing nowadays.

My list of grievances lately:
*people who give me attitude
*people who cheap out on tipping
*people who think it's my only goal in life to be a waitress and treat me accordingly
*That one kid in class who's always raising his hand and talking about himself
*the fact that he's ALSO in my discussion section
*Teachers that don't know how to teach
*Dirty old men and boys who have no tact/respect
*not enough hours in the day and it seems like it's been forever since I've gone hiking.

Hope the last few weeks are good for you...just think, soon it will be spring...sunny, warm, and sooo inviting.

So I just got back from a political-type event called A-Cafe - a big event to get together the anarchist community here in Santa Cruz. It was way cool - lots of cool people and ideas, and then we had a music break with a local band called Strip Mall Seizures. I wouldn't have thought that Klezmer Hardcore even existed, but they were great. Now...

so despite the declared stance of "our" president that nothing will dissuade him from an attack on Iraq, I'm still valiantly organizing for peace. Fortunately, I'm keeping my long-term political work going at the same time, to which end I've started scrawling this slogan:

dance like nobody is watching
love like nobody owns you
rise up like nobody can stop us
-- because they can't.

It's another Saturday night
and I ain't got nobody
I got some money
cause I just got paid
Now how I wish
I had someone to talk to
I'm in an awful way

I guess I'll study instead puke

"Ordinary men fear solitude. But the Master makes use of it, embracing his aloneness, realizing he is one with the whole Universe."

Just another lonely Wednesday night. I dunno why, but Wed. is always the low part of the week for me, like the afterglow from the weekend is gone, and the next weekend is still too far off.

So tonight I'm...

I always listen to NIN "Pretty Hate Machine" on Valentine's Day. It's a wonderful contrast to all the kitszy nonsense going on around me.

The NIN song Johnny Cash covered is called "Hurt". I think. It's late, and I just wrote a long paper. tongue He also covered U2's "One" and Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus". I don't care for "Personal Jesus", but Mr. Cash turned it into this really cool bluesy song.
