O Great Spirit, whose voice we hear in the wind
Whose breath brings life to the world – Hear us
We come to you as one of many children
We are small, we are weak
We need your strength – your wisdom
Teach us to walk in beauty
Let our eyes behold the red – the purple sunset.
Let our hand reach out to the many things you have made
And our ears may they be sharp so we can hear your voice.
Make us strong – not to be superior to our brothers
But to be able to fight our greatest enemy – ourselves
May we forever come to you with a straight eye.
So that when life fades as the evening sunset
Our spirit will come to you without shame

So i figured i should update... since this is only my second real blog .... but yes i'm still on the search for the cool side of tht pillow...

wow... so i'm back in Montreal, but let's go back in time a bit...

Did a dig on my first urban site last spring (i'm doing my master's in archaeology) dans le Vieux Montral. Then went home to relax for the summer only to be called back to Baie St Paul, north of Quebec, for another excavation there. Met some of the best friends i will ever have there. After that i pretty much absorbed all the summer at home (Nova Scotia) that i could.

so i dunno how to shrink it from the web ... so go see my album for the full picture... sorry
Then started writting a bit of my thesis (on Mi'kmaq hunting and fishing guides) and got a job as a barman at a local tavern.... just as fun as it sounds... babysitting old drunks.... some were cool and had great stories about the woods, camping, hunting and fishing... but others were _dirty_ bitter old men who just wanted to insult you head to toe because it made them feel better.. I often had to drive those same dirty men home after closing time... and once even had to clean their shit off the bathroom floor .... wowee

After a while it took it's toll on me... and i had had enough of the people at home and enough partying during the holidays, so when january hit i headed it back to Montreal where i have less friends, and more colleagues at U de M. That encourages me and gives me more time to concentrate on finishing my Masters.

Oh and in november i took a little 2 week vacation in france... I had already done Paris twice, and i had a good friend from one of my digs doing an internship in Aix en Provence. So I visited her, and we went to Marseilles and Arles. Iposted a few pictures from that... not gonna bother attaching them here... it was such a bitch shrinking them down to upload them...

P.S. : I also played a small role in this little youtube show a bunch of us goofs made... "The Johnny Thunder Show" .. I must emphasize that this is only made for fun... and hope that you can have fun watching it.. it's sort of a spoof on Miami Vice, Magnum PI, James Bond... A team etc... I'll post part 8 here because it's the funniest... but feel free to indulge in the rest of the series.. (i'm dr Livingston in part 2).. enjoy

First Blog !!!! yayay! So I decided (with soMne hinting) that, after almost 2 years on this site, it might finally be time to start a blog. It's late, but I'm _finally_ on vacation. I'll explain in a sec, but first, a little about myself to break the ice. ... never done this so bear with me.

name: Greg
age: 24
location: Muggy Montreal
interests: archaeology, music, movies, native studies, outdoors, hiking, canoeing
what i'm doing in life: 2nd year grad student in archaeology, done my seminars, started writting my thesis... well.. soon
anything else?? comment and i'll fill you in next time

So I was done classes _for good_ in april, and i was planning on heading back home to beautiful (and cool)NS to relax on the beach, and have bonfires next to lakes. but then my supervisor offered/pressured me a job with him at a dig dans le vieux montréal, since i was the only guy with 7 other female interns it was hard to refuse. So June 5th comes along, the dig is done, and I get a call from my supervisor asking me if I'd join him at Baie St Paul (north of Quebec) for another job. (I guess i had proven myself worthy or somehing). So again I accepted. All in all, I was planning to be stargazing at Eel Lake at the beginning of May, but instead I'm still in Montreal, sweating my balls off listening to drunks pass by at 4am. But after this job that ends mid July, i'm hitting the rapids down home.

In other news the Heaby MTL schedule finally came out... very impresed, here have a little gander:
