What a disappointment. The Half Blood Prince is probably my favorite book in the entire Harry Potter series...but the movie was horrible. Well, maybe i should rephrase that..it was a terrible adaptation of the book. Half of the KEY characters mentioned in the book were missing or only on screen for about a minute, yet that annoying Lavender girl is in every other scene?! Bollocks! If you've never read the books, then you probably thought it was okay. Me? I wanted to gouge my eyes out for having spent five bucks and what seemed like ten hours of my life on this train wreck.
The weather's been rather miserable here the past few days. Hence my brilliant, "lets stay home and watch a movie" idea.Yeah... standing in the rain for two hours would have been a more pleasant experience
Well, on to something more serious....
Haiti After Dark
I know we've got our troubles here in America, but seeing all the devastation that has fallen upon these people, who were already amongst the poorest in the world, tears me up inside. What frightens me the most is knowing that there are thousands of children there, thousands of babies, that will never see their families again. To know that a child is out there alone and unprotected, as many of them are, is almost unbearable.
My blogs are never about anything important, as this one started out, but if you've managed to read this far, I ask you to please please please please find an organization of your choice and donate to help out the people of Haiti. I chose the American Red Cross (their minimum donation is 10 bucks though), but I know there are many others, you just have to research. There will also be a two hour telethon this friday at 8 pm (eastern time) on many of our major networks..in case you'd like to check that out

As for Haiti, BUST.com has a good list on a bunch of different ways to contribute, and even in the comments there are good suggestions there. And Red Cross also partners with local places, so keep your eyes open as I was able to donate in my neighborhood.
