so i definitely disappeared for...well, months, really.

i'm sorry.

in any case, my laptop died, i moved, didn't have internet access for what felt like forever...but now i'm back!

and i'm leaving for culinary school in 12 days.
yay for that.

im bored.
my friends are slowly moving away, one by one.
sadness.

if everything goes well, i'll be leaving for school in july.
i just have to tie up some loose ends and get some financial aid matters settled, but classes start July 2.

i'll be up there at the french culinary institute until october and then back down here briefly until i figure out what i'm doing.

i'm excited.

so i made my first turkey dinner tonight. it was just for myself and a friend but i still made all the fixin's.

it all came out fantastic! i'm happy with it

these have been a strange few months.
my roommate found out that his father is dying. he went to the doctor because he wasn't feeling well and walked out diagnosed with terminal cancer and a life expectancy of less than six months.

the night before last, the father of a close friend of mine passed away.

The Boot is on 21st street in ghent - about a block off of granby street. the food is fantastic - very classy italian. not your average corporate take on italian, either. i'm talking serious italian food. stuff you'd find on my grandmother's table

the new jobs are going really well

things are good.

so i start moving out of my apartment tomorrow...

and i haven't actually packed anything yet.

it just kind of hit me while i was at a party tonight how much that really sucks.

i've just been so damn busy. working two jobs and never sleeping...when should i have packed?!

tomorrow is going to be a long day.
