So, here we are, into the new year..about to celebrate my birthday on the 3rd...and where am I....Afghanistan...2 more months then i get to go home...I miss being able to hang with my old friends, and making new ones over a drink..and maybe meeting a fun girl to have for the night, or longer....

Well is xmas, I am finally back in germany and done with deployment..I am hanging with my awesome girl and loving life....

God...has it been almost a year since I was forced to leave a plce i love soo much...86 days til I am back from deployment and enjoying good friends, real beer, and good times...

86 days til I am back in GERMANY...........not that i am counting or anything....

Soo..while deployed I have decided to try my hand tattooing...I literally just finished my first piece on my right calf

When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, "Come!" I looked and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

So today was election day in Iraq....And as i spent the day flying around and over Bahgdad.. I come realise how many kids and families there are being ruined by all the senseless bombings and politics in this country... Far too many conflicts have been tearing lives apart due to religious differances....

So..just a little over a month till I get R&R, 14 days away from the war...the army..and anyone who knows me...I think I am heading to Amsterdam....I have always wanted to go, and hey..the army will pay for my ticket there ..LOL..Looking for freedom, booze, and a good time...Maybe I will get lucky and run into one or two of the SG's that live in that area..THAT would be awesome...pics of a soldier with SG's...

Today ... my heart is heavy with sadness and my eyes filled with tears...
A good friend, kind soul, and outstanding pilot lost his life in a tragic Blackhawk crash...
He was the pilot I flew with for my very first flight as a crewchief and he taught me a lot of things...Most importantly..cherish those close to you, you never know what kind of impact you can make in a persons life with just a kind word, a friendly gesture, and a open heart...

My heart and deepest sympathies go out to his wife and children..and to those of us in his exteneded family left behind...you will be missed...

So....as if being deployed didn't suck bad enough..I haven't heard from my gf in 3 days....and we have been on the rocks as it is..I hate the feeling that things may be coming to an end and I am 1500 miles away in a combat zone and I am not there to even there to deal with this.....

Got my stitches yanked out today....the scar from it is gonna be pretty gnarly....not sure how much range of motion i am gonna have in this finger..i can't even make a fist with my right hand right now....
