In Louisville Kentucky tonight. Met some really cool people and had just a bit too much bourbon. Can't wait to see what this road trip brings tomorrow.

too much bourbon can never be bad, hope your road trip went well!

I'm not sure if it is because I'm cheap or because when I make something from scratch, I go all out. An example: making pizza sauce means I plant and grow a garden full of tomatoes. And as it turns out that making hard cider starts with making a cider press. Finished it tonight. I've got two bushels of apples straight from a local orchard...

Looks like all it took was a discount to convince me to stay. smile

So it looks like it is time to say good bye. As of the 17th I'm letting me subscription lapse. I just don't check in enough to make the $50 a year worth while. I will miss you all. Bye!

It's been a long time since I've had anything to say. Not because I've hiding, but because things are going good. Good stories are boring to tell and read. I've been on vacation, celebrated my 15th wedding anniversary, my 36th birthday and my wife's 37th.

So recap, I celebrated all of those things in Kentucky while at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival. I visited a decent...

Right now I am sitting watching my wife sleep off the effects of her final round of chemotherapy. It's hard to believe that the six treatments are done. Life has changed so much for us since it started. She's ill, and when she isn't she's tired. She's stubborn so she tries to do things anyway, but tires quickly. I've come to realize that in many...

Watching my wife sort of just suffer is hard. I know that she's in a good spot. Her doctor's assure her that she had cancer and is having chemo. But it's still hard. I really wish there was more I could do. I know it helps, but just being there doesn't seem like enough. But the good news is that we are half done. Only...

Well, my wife's first chemo treatment is done. Now she deals with the nausea. And of course the anxiety about when the other side effects will happen. Seems it's sort of a delayed reaction sort of thing. All I know is that she doesn't feel very good and I can't really do anything about it.

I feel very helpless right now. I need to try...

So the last few weeks have been tough. My wife was having problems with what the doctors thought was an ovarian cyst. There was one, but while in there, they found an odd little thumb print sized lump. Turns out it was cancer. I'm not sure if it technically ovarian cancer or not, but in any case she ended having a hysterectomy as well as...

Heavy stuff when your near and dear is ailing like that. Sometimes that hardest thing is to keep it light. I hope you both find ways to stay positive and that she comes through it all just fine.

Oh wow. It's been so long since I've been here. Not sure what the holidays did to me but I just wasn't feeling the internets for quite a while. I'd let my actual blog lapse over the fall, I'd pretty much fallen off the grid. It's sort of refreshing just letting go for a while.

Since I've been here last, I've been doing a lot...

Holy Fucking Shit That Trip Was Awesome!

I will have photos. Promise. Too tired today, just got home to Minnesota a couple hours ago. watched the temp drop 45 degrees over that past two days as I drove north, but a month of trying to get used to the cold weather will totally be worth missing the first real snow to sweat my ass off...
