What I have to say deals with apathy on a massive scale.
Perhaps we've been bombarded for the past 50 years with so many media spotlights that we as a people are just mentally fucking burnt to a crisp. 500 years ago, were Palestinians killing Israelis and vice versa? You bet your ass. Were entire species being wiped out due to over-hunting and industrialization in every "civilized area"? Of course! We just didn't know about it! So, we have tyrants for leaders refusing to give up power all over the world. Is this anything new? My point is technology and the media are advancing so rapidly that we're being over-exposed to every fucked up thing in the world - ALL AT THE SAME TIME. Shit. Floods in the mid-west, Mount Vesuvius is about to explode again, the North Pole is melting, New Orleans is the new Atlantis, mothers are leaving their babies at Wal*Mart, Typhoons are wiping out entire islands, ferrys are sinking with hundreds of people on board - which by the way are also carrying HIGHLY TOXIC material that reacts with WATER.
GOD IS PISSED, people.
Seriously. apathy is a robust shield in today's day and age. I just wish it didn't carry over into people attitudes on a local scale. Respect for our neighbors is at an all time low. Traditional courtises are ignored. People aren't living these days, they are merely *surviving*.
Go outside and live!
