after a long and boring winter of not working much i quit my job and started my own landscaping company. one month in and doing well so far. i will be doing some mowing and some design-build. hopefully turning to just design build. wish me luck sg land.

older and older. i guess it's better than the alternative.

officially laid off. i think sometimes i am getting too old to keep starting over. it's my own fault, i can't seem to stay in one place for too long. it sucks this time becasue i was planning on staying here. well, change brings new opportunities for growth.

back in asheville. cold, clammy, and raining. i think i need to move to belize. or thailand.

i'm in sc this weekend for a blues festival and to see my girlfriends family. it's nice to get out of the mountains and get soem warmer weather, but whenever i leave asheville i really appreciate all it has to offer. well, except a booming economy. we've become such a tourist mecca that the people who live there service industry workers. not sustainable in a bad economy.

well the recession has finally hit me. the rich people in wnc are no longer willing to put money into their landscapes. no more patios, walkways, planting beds, water features. the poor don't have money and the rich don't want to spend it.

we had a great valentines day here in WNC. a bunch of us went to a dive and ate wings and oysters, then off to a strip club. i have always hated v-day. a friend back in NY was born on v-day and she hated it too. so we used to go out dressed in black, get trashed, rip down v-day decorations, ah the good old days.

finally recovered from a day of celebrating the end of george bush.
