Long weekend for the Diamond Jubilee, & have I spent it celebrating & doing the street party thing?

Yesterday was spent shifting several tons of earth around the back garden so we can get our turf laid,downside of all this is that we've had to rehome our chickens for a while,but they've gone to a friend who has already got 20 odd chooks,& they've settled in really well.
Today weather was crap,so lazy morning in bed with Alxx_B having some fun
Then we got back down to work & started work on the lounge,stripped all the wallpaper off.
Loads of work going on, but now the house is FINALLY all mine (only taken 5 years to get the ex's name of the mortgage:mad
we want to make our own mark on it.
Off to look at flooring for the bedroom tomorrow, I'll be glad to get back to work for a rest

Been spending my hard earned on a new toy for my wife
Summers here & she's always liked Golf's, especially Cabrio's.
Brought this as a suprise,took this photo on my phone,sent it to her & asked her if she liked it.
When she said yes I told that was good as it was her's & if she would like to come down to where I was parked when she finished work she could drive it home.
We are off for a long weekend together next weekend to Brighton.Just us,no kids.
Guess which car she wants to take!

Just come back from attending daughters school.
Had a meeting with her head of year about what exams she wishes to take. & like most teenagers she hasnt a clue what she wants to do in life yet!
But with some encouragement we've got there.
Mix of vocational & academic in things that interest her,more so when I told if she took French,along with catering/hospitality she *could* work in the chalets/hotels in the Alps & get to ski for free!
She loves skiing, & she lit up when she realised what she could do.

Hi SGland, positive vibes needed please. Its 2.30am & ive just had to leave my wife & 1year old son at the hospital.
He's having problems breathing & its heatbreaking watching him struggle for breath & panicing,then having coughing fits. He's been given steroids which have helped to open up his airways & he was a bit better when I had to leave,

Daughter had her 1st major Karate comp today up against Dojo's from all over southern England.

Had a recent online discusion as to why I like where I live, & as the old saying goes a pictures worth a thousand words I took a few random shots. Nothing special,all done with my Nokia 'phone!
