Mini dress weather continues. However, I have heard that the dreaded polar vortex will be back next week. If it snows here again or gets below the forties I am going to grab the nearest living thing that isn't covered in fur and kill it.
Last night I was out and about here in the Queen City. There's a small neighborhood I like to hang out in that I affectionately call 'Little Williamsburg'. On my travels through the neighborhood I saw a man sleeping behind a dumpster. I wanted to give him a blanket, a pillow, anything. And then I got mad. In a country that is supposedly so great that we reach out to other nations to help them with their problems we can't even make sure our own people aren't sleeping behind dumpsters. I get that people make bad choices. I get that. I do. But the vast majority of the time these people are homeless because they have undiagnosed or untreated mental illness. My uncle had paranoid schizophrenia. He died on the streets in New York City. In this country, we don't do enough for people suffering mental illness. Instead, we continue to stigmatize those with mental illness and vilify the poor as 'lazy takers'. It's fucked up. It shouldn't be that way.
We are a great and wealthy nation. No one should have to sleep on the streets.
Okay, rant over. I just had to get that off my chest.
It thundered and there was lighting this morning along with a slew of heavy rain. I liked it. I laid in my bed for a while with the furry creatures and just sat and listened to it.
There's your daily after shower selfie.
Oh, and a shoot may happen a week from today! I'll keep y'all posted.
Also, I've started thinking with a slight southern accent, but still speaking with a Jersey accent. I'm just waiting for the two to cross paths coming out of my mouth so I can confuse the hell out of everybody I speak to.
