Second Life and sign up for a FREE lifetime account in the metaverse, a 3d incarnation of the internet. It is, quite simply, the most amazing computer program ever developed. It defies all genre classifications. It's a game, a design tool, a chat tool, and so much more.
They don't spam you, they keep all your info private, they don't harrass you into upgrading to the optional premium account (which isn't really necessary to experience 99.999% of the content), and it really is free for life. All you need is a broadband connection, and you can download the ~25MB client installation file from the site.
