I cant remember the last time I posted a blog, but this is the busiest time of year for me. Not due to my studies which are currently taking up very little time but due to the fact that I volunteer for scientific networking organisation and there are a lot of events they help run for high school students and students about to graduate university and enter the work force at the end of each year. All in all it is pretty boring work though.
As for me personally, I spent a lot of time recently thinking about what I wanted to do as a scientist which has led me to the decision to leave my current university and move to the top food science university in my country. This happens to be Otago University which is in Dunedin the southern most city in the world (unless you count Invercargill a city). It is one of the favourite places I have ever lived but a lot less exciting then where I live currently.
It will also mean I will be within a few hours drive of my parents, which will be nice as I have not seen my mother in 4 years. So here's hoping I have made a good decision.
