Ûrrghhh!

How have you all been doing?

Spring's finally arriving here, our little garden is tuning green again; our insect hotel is attracting bugs, we're able to have a veggie BBQ outside. Life can be sweet from time to time.

I recently applied for a new job at the government organization where i'm curently working. Too bad I was 4th out of 12, so no new job adventures for me. In the beginning of 2014 a piece of my department will move from Brussels to Gent, where I live, so I'll probabely move too. Quite nice, since I began to hate commuting every single day. Like that I can go to the office by bicycle, and it'll take me 20 or 25 minutes. Two words: Hell. Yeah.

smile

I've seen some nice gigs lately: Desiderii Marginis, Empusae, Cough, Witch Mountain, Saint Vitus, etc.

Next big thing on is Fortarock in Holland:

Looks nice. Never seen Rammstein so far... ow... and ENTOMBED again! How about some nice grooving death 'n roll?!

Graspop Metal Meeting is coming up too. I'll try to win some tickets, worked out fine the previous years. I don't feel like spending 3 days in a dirty tent anymore. I suppose that's what they call 'getting old'.

At the end of May i'll turn 34 too... nothing special. I hated turning 30 more surreal

I also started rehearsing with a band. It's called BURDEN (at the moment, because we're still deciding I think) and we play some kind of sludgy doomy metal. If you people know AmenRa... something like that. Simplistic. Dark. We only rehearsed once, so I can't really tell a lot about it or give you guys any soundsamples.

But it's nice. It was also one of the things I wanted to do again in 2013 since my previous band quit about 1,5 years ago.

Some nice new revelations on SG too... check out:

EUPHEMIA - Absolem

PRUNE - Mercredi Matin

HEATHEN - Adoration

SOFIABELLA - Southwark

AKRATIE - Breathe me

JUPITER - Clin d'oeil

SKYEANNELISE - Choose Me

CORALL - Forgotten Eve

Show them some löve smile

Laterz!

Thailand... wonderful country... I'm back!

Together with my gf I've spent february in Thailand. 4 weeks of travelling. First arriving in Bangkok, then up north to Chiang Mai, back south with the bus to Sukhohtai and Ayutthaya, back to Bangkok, and then south to chill on Koh Tao. Wonderful but hot weather, grrrreat food (although I couldn't remember it was so damn difficult to find veggie food... i was there before, 6 years ago), lovely people and atmosphere... and ofcourse, buddha's galore!

It was cold and harsh, to arrive back in Brussels a week and half ago. Crazy, cold, grey, grumpy people... waarrghh. I almost got an instant depression. Right now I'm adapted again to 'normal' life, whether that's good or not? Maybe it's creepy...

Last week I saw Saint-Vitus live on stage, hehe... quite nice and doom. Old, grey rockers! Wino's a hero!

I'm thinking of going to Fortarock in Holland this summer. Normally I go to Graspop Metal Meeting, for old time's sake, but somehow I grew a bit tired of it. Fortarock seems nice:

I've just applied for a new position in the government service where I work: e-coach. Haha, helping unemployed people with their resumé, letters, mails, applications, etc etc... Sounds quite interesting, but I think chances are little that I will have this job. Anyway... wish me luck.

Anyway... going to relax for the evening smile Take care!

Dear friends

The last days of 2012 are setting in. I hope everyone of you can find some peace and love... On their own, with friends, with family... I hope you pass the holidays well, and that 2013 may bring crazy adventures, loads of rock & roll, joy, happiness, laughs and cries, dreams,...

Last saturday I went to the AB in Brussels. AmenRa played their releaseshow there. Mass V just came out... It was intense. Dark. Deep. It was quite an audiosonic experience that gave you goosebumps. When you closed your eyes you saw a swirl of emotions and pain. Crazy.

I don't have any video material... but this is their latest videoclip:

For x-mas I got some more drawing tools... So I hope I can soon find more time to experiment with those in my sketchbook.

There are quite a lot new sets here on SG worth enjoying and loving... check it out:

CANE - Vagebond

APOLLINE - Petite Anatomie

SKULDD - Autumn is coming

ArcticasNight - Loving freedom

ASTORIA - Amarinthine

EDD - Secret Window

ROUGH - se dévoile

NANNAH - Bloom

MARQUISE - Pan to Artemis

Show them some love please.

Have you guys got any show coming up? Over here it seems quite lame the upcoming weeks. In january there's Kiss the Anus of a black Cat in Gent... a bit wavey, not bad at all smile

Take good care!

How are you doing, my beloved friends? smile

Since a week I was able to find some old 60ies or 70ies sideboard for the living room, was quite an effort to find a cheap one, because it seems that anything 'vintage' nowadays is a hype, and therefor: expensive smile Anyway, found a nice sideboard/lowboard (it's called 'dressoir in dutch or french) in Holland (area of Tilburg) smile Good good... I'll post a pic later on.

Next friday it's MESHUGGAH time in Antwerp. I've seen them a few times now, and they always, totaly, blow me away!

Anyone going there?

Two days laters, it's Gojira... unfortunately already sold-out, crap 'n doodle!

I've also purchased tickets for me and my gf to go and see MONO live in the Vooruit in Gent, they play here at the end november. Some weird atmospheres and soundscaping post rock smile Love it!

Next saturday it's also TRIBAL ROOTS, some old-school goa/psytrance. Damn, it's been ages since I went to a fluoro party, haha... psychedelic, n0m n0m. It's with Astral Projection, etc; so I suppose it'll be kind of 90ies goatrance. And, it's just a few streets away, haha, so I can go by foot or by bycicle, even easier smile

Also watch out for these beauties... new sets deserves lots of loving!

Check out:

SidSinner! from Belgium!

Einnis

Elvetica

Cendres

Laria

Euforia

BzzzZZzzzmmmmm...

Little update here. My sleeve's as good as finished now. Have to go back tomorrow for some little touch-ups. You can have a sneak peak here, sorry about the rather blurry pic and weird position, haha... I'm not disabled smile

I have a month off now. Nothing special to do, a bit of relaxing; going to the Ardennes with my gf for a little week, and going to a southern region in Limburg (Holland) for 3 or 4 days. I wanted to go further away, where there's more sun and heat... but yeah... didn't happen smile My gf is starting with a selection procedure for a new job, and it starts also in Ocotber.

Picked up drawing lessons in the academy of arts in Gent. First lesson was quite confronting. There were a lot of people that came from other arty directions and could draw rather good already, I've been drawing as a kid and did a new initiation 2 years ago... But when I compared my drawings the others' ones, I was like "FÖK!" biggrin Haha... But it's already going better. Stupid thing is that I can't go every week because of my shifts at work. BUT I WANT TO DRAW, at last it's something I wanna do. I forget time then, I watch other people draw, I bite my tonge, I lear techniques, and I curse when things won't work out. Compared to my job, it feels just 'alive'.

Soooo... the jobhunt is ON, too smile But what? And where? I work with the VDAB right now, it's a governmental division for helping unemployed people with finding jobs and educations and stuff; so I know it isn't a golden period whatever But I hope to find something that doesn't kill my brain any further soon.

Seems like TIAMAT is releasing a new cd/lp soon... So looking forward to hearing it!

Already loved TIAMAT since the 'Clouds' and 'Wildhoney' albums. They've got this vibe and groove going!

Last weekend I went to see BETHLEHEM and SECRETS OF THE MOON. Bethlehem was quite a revelation, I heard a few tunes of them back in the 90ies, nice dark metal. But live it was beautiful, the right notes on the right moment. Secrets of the Moon blew me away too.

The Obsessed is playing here on thursday. But I'm not sure I'll go. I'm having problems with my computer, and since I got taxes back, I'm thinking about purchasing a MacBook. Only thing that bothers me is that it's soooo darn expensive eeek Is it worth it? IS IT? smile

At the end of October, Bohren & Der Club of Gore is playing in Kortrijk. Same day as DOWN plays in Antwerp. But I think I'm going to see Bohren, it's something quite different, but yet dark and gloomy. And it's in a very VERY good venue!

Check our for yourself! It's like creepy late night smokey & whiskey music surreal

Also got my ticket for the AmenRa release show. AmenRa is a nice Belgian sludge-like collective, signed to Neurot Recordings, and they release their new cd in December in the Ancienne Belgique, one of the most well-known and most beautiful concert-locations in Belgium. That show was sold-out in 3 or 4 days, so I'm lucky I've got mine.

Their new work sounds, well, massive!

Please take a minute to take a look at these new sets:

Hmmm... seems like I'm promoting la douce France?! ooo aaa

Anyway, lads & gents... I'm going to enjoy my 2nd day of my month off work. Haha... Some work-out in 30 minutes, then to the garden-center and Ikea, and this evening: off to the academy.

Take good care & enjoy all the colours and scents of autumn!

This wednesday... it's time for the ELECTRIC WIZARD ritual, live on stage...

They play in Bruges, together with belgian doomsters SARDONIS! ! Hell yeah! Looking forward to seeing them.

The upcomping weekend it's time for ORANGE GOBLIN! On some kind of bikerfest, not so far from where I live. Haven't seem them live so far.

Summer has arrived... carefully. Last week it was hot as hell, and since this weekend, it's rainy and cloudy again; haha... It doesn't seem possible for the summer to get kickstarted.

Just fell ill for 3 days... rhinitis and stuff; and right now, my voice isn't completely 'ok'. I work in some sort of callcenter, so... I'm curious about how i'll get through this first workingdag surreal

Furthermore I advise all of you to take a closer look at these hopefuls... lovely lovely ladies!

My sleeve's progressing... steadily... Upper arm dotwork patterns are being inked. Next session in July... and after that I suppose 1 or 2 more sessions to complete the sleeve biggrin Hell-of-a-work wink

Last firday I say SUNN 0))) live in and old 19th century fortress around Antwerp... Grrreat setting, and maximum dröne! Damn... I wore ear protection as usual, but it was loud and deep. First time I saw them, and it was a great experience. It's morelike a physical experience than an auditive one. Lots of smoke, robes, drones, MOOG, and... Atilla on vocals to complete the ritual.

Next weekend it's Graspop-time. I'm probabely there on saturday & sunday. Anyone from sg.com coming? Have a beer, and rock out... haha smile Headliners suck (Limp Bizkit?!, GnR?!) but anyway...

Life's been nice to me lately... peace of mind. Urgently need a new job, so I can start drawing lessons again in september; but since the golden-job-age seems to be over, chances are little that I can change jobs before september. Blaarrghhhh... that sucks.

Looking for a place to spend 1 or 2 weeks of vacation in late September, beginning of October. Preferably Europe.... not too expensive... good weather. Anybody has got a good idea? I was thinking about the Azores, but I've never been there, don't know anybody who has been there before, and I'm not sure late september is the best period to go there... Looks like a mystical volcanic island to me tho'!

Or maybe Crete... Wellll... we've got some time left to decide.

Check out the new (SARDONIS CD... coming to you next week!

Hope you're all doing fine!

RKK & RLL!
