This is probably my favorite song. The emedding has been disable for this song so you have to leave SG to view it at Youtube, but anyway it's "Number of the Beast" by Iron Maiden.

O.K. so I don't really have anything to say, because I'm largely unimportant and boring. However, I feel like I should contribute something to this site, because I feel selfish for simply viewing the wonderful Suicide Girls and reading their thoughts. Therefore, I've decided since I'm not really creative and it's very difficult to express myself in a meaningful and effective manner, I'm instead going to utilize the creative works of others to replace my lack of creativity. So for my first installment, I chose to post a work by Mr. Howlin' Wolf, which I find to be apropos for these tough economic times. Enjoy

I voraciously devoured my California Roll and then curiously turned my attention to the Sushi and Sashimi dinner Anne was slowly eating. "Anne" noticed I had quickly eaten my share and asked me if I would like to sample a morsel, I tentatively nodded that I would like to try some of hers. So, she instructed me to close my eyes and open my mouth and I complied. After several seconds Anne gently laid a sample on my tongue and with a subtle giggle in her voice she said, "Now chew." I closed my mouth, opened my eyes and began to slowly and cautiously chew my precious gift. The first taste was that of soy sauce and then the familiar taste of sushi rice which quickly gave way to the clean, buttery, silky and delicate flavor of the fish. I beckoned for the waiter and ordered a Sushi and Sashimi dinner to which when it finally arrived I delightfully explored my dish like I would imagine one would explore the Playboy Mansion and so my love for sushi was born. Even though our romance was not lasting, my love for sushi is lasting and that experience had not only opened my eyes to Japanese cuisine, I became open to many other exotic cuisines and what I could not find in DFW, I learned to prepare and thus a love for cooking was born and though I do not know what eventually became of "Anne" I will ever be appreciative to her for opening my eyes to the delights of sushi eating.

As we waited for our dinner to arrive I took in the Asian ambiance; I noticed the busy chefs behind a bar likely preparing our dinner, I also noticed the patrons of many ethnicities and ages quietly conversing with each other at their respective lacquered teak tables and I took note of the multihued, delicate and exquisite maki, sashimi and nigiri that the other diners were feeding upon. After, several seconds of silent observation I began to attempt small conversation with "Anne" as I suddenly felt I was neglecting her and not attending to the supposed mating ritual at hand. However, my attempts at conversation were feeble at best as I was distracted by my anxiety at tasting my California Roll and despite the gentle and amused reassurances from lovely dinner date that the protein contents of my roll would be cooked and not in fact raw and furthermore this California Roll was the sushi of choice among novice sushi explorers such as myself. I took this opportunity to inquire as to how it was that she came to know so much about sushi, to which she informed me that her parents being of the upper classes were adventurous eaters and after her father had sampled some of the finest sushi while doing business in Japan, he imported his love for sushi into his family and thus her love for sushi was born. I admitted to her that my parents are also adventurous eaters; however unlike her family we were from the lower classes and could not afford to consume sushi that was I'm sure in both my parents' minds was considered to be "rich people's" food.
Dinner arrived at our table, Anne asked me if I was familiar with chopsticks and I assured her to the affirmative by demonstrating my proficiency with the dual bamboo sticks, by dexterously picking up a Sweet and Low packet from its container. After my proficiency with chopsticks was established, Anne began to explain the proper method for eating my California Roll. I was to first eat a small sliver of the pickled ginger or gari from the small pile on the corner of my rectangular bamboo plate to cleanse my palate. Next, I was to acquire a single piece of the roll and lightly dip an edge of the roll into the small dish filled with soy sauce, which "Anne" had poured for me. Finally, in order to complete the process I was to insert the entire piece into my mouth and I did with giddy apprehension. The taste was absolutely sublime, I could distinctly taste the tartness of the rice, the nuttiness of the toasted sesame seeds, the creaminess of the avocado, the buttery faux crab meat and the crunchy cucumber; all came together to leave a smooth and creamy finish. I recall with great fondness and some embarrassment my first wonderful encounter with sushi; it was on a romantic rendezvous with a rather wonderful Tri Delt (henceforth for anonymity sake I shall refer to as "Anne") on one perfect fall evening and at the suggestion of my soon to be dinner companion, my love for sushi began at Piranha Killer Sushi located in Arlington. I agreed to the suggestion with some apprehension for many of the "I was made violently ill by a bad piece of sushi" anecdotes I had heard over the years by friends and friends of a friend still rang loudly in my mind, however in order to protect my machismo fed pride and a need to impress my rather nubile date, I beat back these thoughts with resolute alacrity. Upon being led to our table and subsequent menus presentation, I set my eyes upon the colorful and stylized Japanese font list of maki, sashimi and nigiri, though at the time these names were quite foreign to me still. Sensing my puerile trepidation and ignorance, "Anne" suggested a California Roll, to which I gladly acquiesced. She however did not possess the same prejudices and anxiety that I had had, as I'm sure this was not her first experience with sushi for she ordered the Sushi and Sashimi dinner (a rather expensive choice at nearly $25 I might add) which contained salmon, yellow tail, and other delectable treats from the sea. to be continued .....
