An armed society is a polite society.
I think that was the moment I became smitten. Brains, beauty, personality; I had seen all of these in her, I was already interested, but that one was the icing on the cake. People this awesome are rare -- very, very rare -- so I just consider myself very lucky to have met her. I dont get to see a whole lot of her, but Im not looking to rush into anything either. Ive learned my lessons: theres nothing wrong with slow. Slow is safe. Slow is good. Now, if I can just restrain my incessant guntalk . . .
By the way, I GOT THE JOB! I went in for the interview. The ops manager told me about the company and what they do, asked me some questions, then asked me if I had any questions.
Just one, I said. When do I start?
He sat me down with paperwork, took copies of ID, SSN, DD214, issued uniform, took photos and made a company ID, etc. Basically, went through the usual process.
Finished everything up and he said, You start tomorrow night.
Just got finished with my first 12 hour shift -- 1800-0600hrs -- truly exciting. Okay, not really, but its quiet and theres stuff to do. The overtime will be nice.
Im already slotted for their Force Protection Team, which is what I wanted to do; just waiting on my armed card. In the mean time, Ill be working unarmed posts. I think I can handle this.
End report.

I'm assuming the dream came from watching Emeril Live too much. You ever seen that show?
He'll season something, taste it, and then go "Oh yeaaaaahhhh, baby".
I suppose the dream isn't that surprising, considering.
I've used his recipes, too, and I love 'em. Using one of them today for my brother's birthday dinner, in fact.
