Haven't updated my journal for a while. Surprised skirttwlr hasn't given me a hard time about that.
I just realized I am always talking about the weather on here; I can't help it--I LOVE summers in Seattle!!! This past weekend was a little on the hot side though--while it was overcast yesterday it was a nice break from the heat. Summer is back today though, I am sitting out on my porch in the morning sun as I update this.
Summer days like this make me think of Shakespeare's 18th sonnet:
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growest:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this and this gives life to thee.
It would be way to easy to just hang out here in the morning sun but I better get it in gear and get to work!
