Damn, I miss the internets... Recently moved to the DC area with my girl Karren. Houston was effecting her health so bad that 3 different doctors said the same thing, "You have to get out of Houston." I've known her for almost 7 years now, and its been tough watching my closest friend gradually getting worse. From placing 3rd in state cross country to being trapped on the couch surrounded in tissues, medicine bottles, and sucking down on asthma inhalers every hour.
We left our artsy house, artsy jobs, and friends, but,,, so far, it has been worth it to see her gaining color again.
(I wonder if its okay to put that many commas in one sentence...?) I started training for a new job, working as a white water river guide. It has taken me completely out of my comfort zone, but I'm having a blast. Kare is getting her gymnastics business up again and we've already started looking at some fixer-upper houses. So, goodbye Houston, hello east coast living.

It has been a krezzy year, went from production manager of an event company to starting my own photography biz. Its taken a lot of late nights, and packs of ramen to get my site up and going, but I'm proud. I had taken a couple years off from photography altogether, until I met the BUG. She gave me plenty of excuses to dust off my camera. Check out my site, under people, you can't miss her

Much love and many thanks to SG and the hopefuls I've worked with.

I am way behind on editing a new set with Lita Loveless, but I finally finished Toro. Life is running at full speed and chaotic for me, but I love it this way. Here are a few shots of my latest work. The first is a teaser shot from Lita's upcoming set. The others of Toro. Carved out of foam with a hand saw, wire brush and some sand paper. He is 6 foot wide at his horns, 4 foot nose to back of head, and he rests along the cross bar of a field goal at 9 feet. I've literally been covered in foam snow for the passed five days, and glad to have a small break before the next big project.... The man on the moon and the cocaine spoon for a studio 54 themed party
I'm at the warehouse taking a break from one of the latest projects. Just started putting a hard coat on the 8' tall, foam, beer bottles for Miller. They are going to be suspended over bars in the local stadium
I can only take credit for carving out the mouth of the bottle. But, after these are done, I get to carve out a 6' bull head for the Texans. Will be taking plenty of pictures of the process.
Just saw Denie's new set Time Goes By and
it. She is beautiful and the photographer in me appreciates how well each image was taken. But, you've already clicked the link by now and already now for yourself,... right?
I'm "hoping" to get some more photography work put in soon. Here are a few pics of an Alice in Wonderland theme I took recently. Built the over-sized chair for a play recently and felt inspired..

Its been a while..
Since my last blog. Good news is, I have just been promoted to production manager here at Party Props Inc. which is, simultaneously bad news. Just depends on which day of the week it is. Before I was promoted, my life was full steam ahead, now the word 'life' is used like a pot of gold at the end of some fading rainbow. I've been so busy that I even missed picking up my SG book in the mail
and my photography biz has been put on the back burner.
This job has its moments though. I get to go behind the scenes at a lot of big events and businesses while meeting some cool people along the way. I'm just trying to find a way to put this place into words. I have been here less than three months, but it feels more like, three years. One day, I may be scrambling to get a huge alien float out to the water way or trying to figure out the best way to stand a twenty foot tall jukebox vertically.
Most days I come home covered in saw dust or some random color of paint, and glitter is impossible to get rid of. Maybe when I have time, I'll upload some pics to give you some idea of what I do around here. When I have time... yeah right

While I think that glasses are sooo damn sexy on girls, I opt for wearing contacts myself. Its one of the things to try and hide some of my Nerd genes. However, these things can be a real pain in the ass, err, eyes rather. I have to set up an event tonight for the Asian Chamber of Commerce. They are hosting a fashion show, and I am also in charge of operating the spot light. It is a big deal to me, cause its a good opportunity to network with people in the photography biz. The salesman, Greg, is even advertising my skills. But this morning a wake up with aching eyes and can hardly open them up. I put on some sunglasses to help relieve some strain, but still manage to look like a drunk monkey driving to work. It doesn't look like they are going to heal in time for tonight. So I'm on lunch here at Party Props and venting.
Hi. I am the world's first BLIND photographer - lmao
No shit though, that reminds me. There really is a blind painter who is pretty kick ass with still life. Google it or find the video on You Tube, --->seriously.

Serendipitous... The date March 9 sticks out at me as I'm signing my DBA. It just occurred to me that I was opening a business the same day the set I photographed for an SG hopeful went LIVE, and my business name was inspired by the name of her first set.
My photography skills are still in need of some tweaking. In fact, I don't know if I'll ever be fully satisfied. I learned a lot from working with her. Sometimes I would be too excited when looking through the lens and seeing a great pose, I would forget to change my aperture or shutter speed to keep my exposure consistent. I know I paid much closer attention to this the second go around.
So here I am, fresh meat on SG, looking forward to meeting some cool folks. I like brutal honesty and intelligent people. If you want my attention, let me know what you REALLY think.
