tonight i'm hitting this up at the boot in ghent on 21st.

no one in this area has heard of bangin dudes. i thought maybe the cats who threw dance parties down here knew who they were, but apparently not.
apparently they're from DC and they throw parties up there, and for some reason, they need to throw parties down here. i didn't know this was going to be a massively regular thing for them (a monthly), until i hit up the myspace. not that i'm much of a dance party dj, but i know how it is when people wave the DC flag, and get that plush red carpet treatment, and straight up invade your turf like you ain't been on the grind for the past X amount of years.
leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, for real. but the fuck else you got to do tonight?
thursday i went downtown for 95 live at velvet. it was a lot more fun than i expected, being treated to *gasp* early 90s hip hop and r&b for once. i was told to come out to that night and was only 10% disappointed rather than 100% disappointed (i could still go without listening to reggae/dancehall, completely overplayed around here).
across the street some friends of mine were playing house/breaks at time. this party wasn't on the agenda, however, it's always good to show face with the homies and let them know you care, and that you came out when you were en route to a different party (usually it's cool, cause it's all about just showing up for about 20 minutes).
