Well, happy new year and all that jazz.

There's a big long entry here about how amazing the party was last night. There were lots of people, funny stories to tell, and sarcasms shared. It was a grand entry to tell you all about my amazing experiences so you can be jealous.

But then I highlighted it all and hit the backspace button.

I didn't have a horrible time. I didn't have the time of my life. I was just there and it was okay.

I'm just too bitter and jaded to enjoy a party like I used to. I anticipate the responses of every conversation and am seldomly surprised. People get drunk, tell stories about themselves, make jokes about others, and laugh it all off into the night where I will hopefully never see them again.

Never aware. No direction. Just consume and destroy. A black hole with no purpose.
