Are there always hidden selves locked away within us? Do we hide them or are they just hidden potential?

My reasons for curiosity stem from my nervousness about tomorrow night. I will be hanging out at a friend's jam studio and she will most likely want to make me sing.

When I'm in the shelter of my bathroom, I have no problem singing and in fact... tell myself that I am rather good.

But outside that little space I'm quiet little me again.
