I think I learned a little more self-control today,

At work I was assigned some tasks I immediately felt were a complete waste of my time, energy, and talents. In fact, as I angrily grit my teeth and manifested all manner of ill-wishes; I simply kept working. I really think I did well to keep on a game face -- both literally and in my communication with others.

It almost came to a bursting point where I was about to be irresponsibly blamed for something I was never delegated responsibility for.

I nimbly avoided a confrontation and reaffirmed my assertion. Had there been one, I was entirely ready to present my case in a clearly logical fashion... but the opportunity failed to present itself.

We all got along fantastically. I even got the impression that post-meeting, the original tension that had built up was in fact just stress and not blame... or so I hope.

People do harbour some ugly notions.

I was also discredited as an anti-intellectual today for challenging "progress." My words of advice -- dissension will only label you a black sheep. Conform and be merry.
