Drummers can be hard to find. Ironically, now that I don't need one, 2 of my colleagues and one of my patients are drummers, and I sit in with a Spiritual Drum Circle from time to time, so my band (Park Bench Mutations) get augmented percussion sometimes - there are about 20 people involved in the Spiritual Drum Circle off and on, and some sit in with us - they're all on congas and tabas and such, not trap sets. But my band has 'traditional' drummer and two others play percussion on and off (most of us switch instruments a lot).

Lately I'm playing more solo, though - I recently started a Themed Music Show every two weeks or so. Even though they're only paying me, members of my band may show and sit in, or The Pottery Barn Lesbians (a girl group from Gainesville that sang backup on my last band, Carpe Noctem's studio sessions) help out sometimes, and my gf, Jill sings. he and I are working out a Rocky Horror set for one Themed Music Show.

Myu next show is next week, and the theme Floods, as my house got flooded recently. I'm doing The Foo Fighters' Watershed, Zep's When The Levee Breaks, Dylan's Crash On The Levee (Down In The Flood), Jackson Browne's After The Deluge, and a bunch of other stuff.

Hope you find adrummer - wish I could send you one. They're all so good at so many styles. I wish I could play drums. I have a Native American talking drum I play in the Spiritual Drum Circle at times, but that's the extent of my drumming. I was told back around 1991 or so, when I still lived near Philadelphia, by a guitarist in my then band, Society's Pliers, that I should be a drummer. He had asked to teac him how to play all the perussion stuff on the guitar I do. I couldn't, 'cause I don't do it consciously,; it's semirandom muting and weird right hand rhythms I do mostly because I was never good at memorizing and repeating up- and down-stroke techniques. So I improvise my rhythm. When I play the same thing the same way repeatedly it gets stale. And boring. I'd rather play in the moment. Sort of the Tao of Guitar, I suppose.

Hey fellow Foos fan. I'm kinda in the same predictament as you when it comes to finding someone new to play music with, except I have a drummer but no guitarist. and I might have started a metal band that covers cheesy 80's and 90's songs but again, no guitarist! Shame you live in a different country!
