Long day today. Just grogginess that refused to leave.
In the morning, treated a patient for, and I wish I was kidding, a stuffy nose for a day. Really? You come to a clinic after having a stuffy nose for a DAY?! Some people really irritate me with their low level of tolerance. Man up and drive on... Regardless, we threw some antibiotics(Keflex), some Sudafed, some Claritin and even some Motrin. Drive on, guy.
Later in saw a guy who had a pretty badly infected toe; glad HE came in or he'd have lost it without any treatment. More Motrin and Keflex, but not before taking a 25g needle and lifting the cuticle to drain it a bit. Good times.
Lunch hit, had my root canal finished up (joy...) then came back for a guy who had a crushed finger from slamming it in an MRAP door (800lb door). Guy had broken his pinkie in two places and severely lacerated the finger lengthwise. Numbed him up, stitched him up and casted him up. Tough guy but horrified of needles lol. Had to give him some antibiotics because a multiple-fracture of a digit can lead to infection which would lead to the loss of the finger. He accepted the IV a lot easier then.
Lastly had a patient who had a nice abscess on his leg that he had tried to drain. Gave him some Keflex(gogo broad spectrum abx!) Ibuprofen for the pain/swelling and some cream for topical use. Good times.
Now I wait for the physical therapist to get done and drag me on another 2.5 mile run. Joy... if I didn't have tomorrow off (FINALLY A DAY OFF!) I'd be pretty peeved.
And to add-on to yesterday's blog, I forgot but on the 3rd I actually did 4 Anthrax vaccinations, not two. Blarg.
