I recently changed my name on facebook. Well, it was about a year ago. Now there are more people that know me by my fake name than my real one. Weird.

Oh what a weekend. Jesus louises. Too much fun. Too sad as well. A friend lost a friend. My dad had his birthday, he's exactly twice my age for the first time ever. Also I got to attend and anti-racist and GLBT issues conference this weekend. That and the incredible hangover from St.Patty's day was incredible. Partied very hard; worked very hard. All in all I believe a job well done.
What did I learn that's important. Transgendered kids deserve their own bathroom. Or rather all kids deserve a bathroom with privacy. In fact, new schools should have gender neutral bathrooms. On my way to attending the second day of the conference I saw a female colleague that I just didn't want to deal with and quickly ducked into the mens washroom. I thought about the fact that I had this safe haven for a second. Then I remembered - I'm a 30 something old male - and I'm hiding in the bathroom. So, this experience highlighted the fact that gender neutral bathrooms can provide a safe space for students in schools. That's one thing I learnt.

Well off to the bush yet again. I'm going to visit my grandfather's sister tomorrow. I've never met her before. She was pretty excited that I called. Coffee witht he aunt in the morning then off to the bush. Life is good in Northern British Columbia, though I can't wait to get to the Oakanagan. My dogs are loving life. I can't believe I'm dragging two guitars into the bush but I can't live without my music. Life is good.

Going out with friends old and new last night was awesome. A pleasantly crisp cool night kept a hop in our step as we traveled from bar to bar in Saskatoon. The company of my most kindred spirit Don was essential. I am glad that he is recovering and well. We all had the greatest time. You could taste the electric celebratory atmosphere created by the joining of friends and the ending of exams. My Indian squash partner let go and got drunk; all the while shouting: "Screw it mom and dad, I'm not becoming a doctor. I'm going to be an accountant. I'm not worried about anything; I feel so Caucasian." I have a HUGE crush on the waitress that served us. She makes the greatest sugar cookies and looks amazing in teal. All in all, too much fun.

Well, do I say. Normally Christmas is really depressing. This year, however, is going very well. Many friends are back home and I am enjoying this. Especially nice is seeing my friend who just got over cancer. The weather in Saskatchewan has also gotten a lot nicer. It is a tolerable -14 Celsius out now. Much better than the -45 Celsius provided a couple weeks ago. My dogs and I will soon go on a walk through frozen prairies. So, I wish everyone who reads this blog, the very merriest of Christmases. With love, the digger.

Well, today George Herbert Walker Bush came to my small Saskatchewan City. People forked out one hundred bucks to hear him speak. I'm gonna let everyone in on a little secret: not a big fan o' the George W.
There was a protest and it was cool and lame. Pretty fun really. Security was so tight that everyone who was going to see George Bush speak had to wait outside. And the protesters all chanted "shame on you"! Kinda awesome, but kinda shitty, since some people who might not be real Bush supporters may have been in line. I had to restrain myself from yelling zingers.
I hope that George is taken to the Hague. Let the world court decide if he is guilty or innocent of war crimes. I think there should be a trail. I don't want to see him hung. I hated these wars before they started. My first trip to the United States was to a protest in Seattle in 1999. I didn't know much about the WTO except I knew people in Bolivia couldn't take the rain that fell from the sky. I knew this was wrong. I also knew that Western foreign policy (Canada and American) was bullshit. I knew that I was outraged on behalf of the poor people of the world. I've grown cynical over protests. Now I find them entertaining. Mostly Laughable, because I wasn't laughing I'd be crying.
All in all quiet a day. Waste of time? I don't think so, but time will tell.

Well the developments since then. Well I gave my number to the girl and she did not call. So life went on. I was rather infatuated with her and this was probably for the best. I would still see her the odd time at the coffe shop she works at daily. Since she never phoned I was polite, but I generally left her alone. the holidays passed and we never saw each other for a while. Last weekend she invited me to a show she was playing at. I went and she gave me her number. We have talked a cou[le times since but we are both really busy in school right now. But I really have realized that I am in no position to start a serious relationship. But her friendship is a very nice thing. I am still infatuated with her. But things are fine the way they are. I am looking forward to spending time with her.

Well. I just let the girl know how I feel and I hope it is mutual. I did it over the internet... boo. I would've preferred to do it in person. while it is done. The jug is broken and I can not mend it. Very well... now to wait the longest wait ever no matter how long it is. love

Well, hello blog readers. If anyone can help me with a question it would be great. Would it be bad to wait by a person's car to ask them out.. Is that just too creepy? What about a letter on the windshield? Is that too creepy. I met this girl and I love the way she smiles at me. I used to go into her work and talk to her an she is lovely. I guess I really miss her smile. She hasn't been back to work in two weeks. I have be waiting to ask her to do something. Anything. But I pass by her car on the way to school everyday. I look and hope that she will be getting in and out but she never is. This makes me feel like a stalker. Don't misinterpret me. If this girl wants nothing to do with me I will never bother her again. I don't know when I will see her again. I know we are going to be at the same xmas party soon maybe. But I really want to tell her how much I adore her smile. Anyone have any advice? frown
