I never thought my city to be one of interest, nor one that would ever attract or deserve attention. El Paso is a big city with a small town attitude. When I was in high school all of the kids referred to it as Hell Paso, as many of them thought it was a terrible place to live.
I enjoy it here. The weather sucks for gardening, considering we have two seasons, summer and Christmas, but it's nice to not have to deal with snow and all the hassle that comes with it. If we want to play in snow about two hours to the north there's Riodoso, and they get some awesome snow. We have amazing history here. The Mexican Revolution had battles that were fought in our streets. Local vendors and store owners sold tickets for people to get on their roof and watch battles.
Believe it or not, El Paso, in it's prime, ranked up there with New York, and Boston. Trade is profitable here, considering that from where I'm sitting right now it's about a ten minute drive to Mexico. Juarez and El Paso are called the twin cities. Still, somewhere along the line El Paso started falling behind. Our production and exportation declined gradually ever since the early fifties. Now the majority of people living here are either military, border patrol, or in the service industry.
We had live alligators in a park downtown for years, recently, they were removed and a statue put in their place. It upset me a bit, considering it is really fucking cool to have live alligators across the street from a courthouse and down the street from an international bridge. It saddens me, El Paso seemed to have to much potential, and it still does, but people aren't quick to believe in the city, or the people in it.
Seemingly, once again El Paso is running in stride with Manhattan, but not in shipping, receiving, or technology, but in freaky shit going down. Earlier this week, over Manhattan people stopped in the street to witness objects flying in the sky over the major city. El Paso saw the same exact thing a couple of nights ago.
This same weekend we had an air-show, people said that it was an air drill, people on youtube were saying that it was a perfect execution of a night jump. There are some problems I have with this explanation. See, the lights are moving downward "falling" if you will, and there is a tail on top of the object, making it appear like a tear drop. This is atmospheric friction, which happens any time something enters or leaves our atmosphere. After the tail vanishes the images remain still. If this was a night jump, or the golden knights, it doesn't explain how they remain stationary.
While I was finding that video I found another one, from Cincinnati, which was filmed last night. All of the videos seem to be the same. The one from El Paso is the only one that I could find that had a flare like tail at the beginning of the happening.
So, my question, well, one of many is, what do you guys think? In my opinion, it is far more unlikely for there not be life. Think of it, there are billions of stars in our Milky Way Galaxy alone, every star we see could have the potential of having a planetary system around it. When conditions are right revolving around the sun life can exist. We are living proof of that. Intelligent life is just a matter of evolution and how far potential life may have come.
Another thing I find strange is this: On September 28th of this year the United Nations appointed Dr. Mazlan Othman as ambassador to extraterrestrials. Not that this is a bad thing, just seems a little strange considering all of the things activity that has happened since. It seems like too much of a coincidence, but then maybe I'm just thinking too far into things. Still, knowledge begets foresight, and it seems to me this is some pretty kick ass foresight. Are certain individuals withholding information from the populous? If they believe that the population is too close minded to be violent against each other or themselves in the event of first contact I tend to agree with them. Even reading through comments on youtube and other websites about the sightings, it's obvious how eager people are to say things like, "Repent! The end is coming!" and "God is warning us that he is going to punish America!" Why does the fact that there may be (and most likely is) intelligent life out there frighten and confuse the masses to a point of mass mania? If these incidents are that of life from another planet visiting, and maybe, studying us, don't you think that if they have the technology to travel through space, wouldn't they also too have the technology to blow us to tiny bits if that is all they were really going for? If they wanted to kill us they would have done it by now, at least that's what I think. Still, my opinion is perspective, and for all I know other life may not have evolved side by side with carnage and killing ability, like us. Maybe they have no desire to kill each other, and thus have no reason to have developed deadly technology. There are so many possibilities and so many unknowns. I'm not scared, I am excited. So many questions to be answered. Discuss! I'd like to know what you all think about all this.
