these past few days have been bittersweet.....I had a free plane ticket so I went back home to visit with my family. I haven't been home since the 2 days I spent here in 2007. So it was nice to be back in my old stomping ground and seeing all the positive change and enjoying the regional things only found in STL. But it's been hard b/c I had to travel without andain. Traveling without her is impossible. Today will be the hardest day b/c I am visiting my grandma who is suffering from advanced dementia. This is the lady who I have fond memories of from all stages of my life and how has given me some of the best advice in my life and now I have to see the shell of a person is she. I never really understood what people go through when dealing with some one how has dementia but now that I do I wish it upon no one.
i need my andain

over the past few days i've repeatedly said the wrong things at the wrong time. has been extremely stressed out, depressed and sad; has felt like a failure and in pain.....hopefully tonight will be the beginning of a better time

andain got bit too so tune into hervblog for her story
well it finally happened a dog bit me. i'm a dog trainer and rehabilator so i knew it was a matter of time. when working with aggressive dogs i always do a meet and greet with me, the client and my girl Stella. This ensures that no one will get hurt. and i've always said no dog will ever get bit b/c i'll be there to take the bite. it's easier for me to get bit cause i can make sense of what happened unlike a dog who reacts with instinct. so today i got my wish.
Long story short everyone is ok, including stella. i'll let the pics do the rest of the talking

we added another dog to our pack. her name is Daisy and she's between 2-3yrs old. She's a pittie of course. More about Daisy's sad history:

She we scheduled a meet and greet to make sure that Daisy accepted and trusted us since she was a shy dog. After spending 45mins with us; she came over and loved on us and allowed us to pet her. Great Success. So the next day we brought our girl stella to meet her and they loved each other. So now the true test; me picking her up and bringing her home. We were told she is very shy but I wasn't too worried. Well long story short; Daisy is awesome. She has come out of her shell to show us her personality and is a great loving, caring and loyal dog. She has put on 3-5 pounds or so and still has another 10 pounds to go or so.

time for a quick update.......
Housing:
andain found a wonderful house for us to live in. 4 bedroom, new kitchen, tons of parking and courtyard with all utilities included for $2200 but we believe we have successfully talked her down to $1600. Now we just need a roommate or another couple. SO WHO WANTS TO SPLIT RENT WITH US?!?!?
we don't care if you drink or smoke just no huge parties cause we work earlier. oh and you must be animal friendly b/c we have 2 well trained dogs and 2 cats
Job:
in case you were wondering the dog training job is awesome. I play and train dogs and they pay me!! and recently the manager of the grooming dept asked me if I wanted to be a washer/drier and she would consider apprenticing me to be a groomer. So that's great
Running:
ran 10 miles in 1hr 15min which rocks now i just need to run 12 miles (a half marathon) in the same time......but until then i'll be stocked to run a half marathon in 1hr 30min
keep it weird sg

i just wanted everyone in sg land to know I might not be around as much as before. But i will be on about once every week or two. my life currently consist of working my primary job (40hrs/week), my dog training job, my wife and kid (kid = dog) and training for marathons (which occupies about 20-30hrs a week)
a little more about what occupies my time. So working 40hrs a week at starbucks is pretty self-explanatory. And my dog training job is great and i love it but it keeps my busy on monday nights, all morning on saturdays and part of sunday.
Of course spending quality time with the wife fills the rest of my time alone with playing and training with my dog.
Lastly, I'm a runner and I'm in training to hit a 3hr finishing time in the boston marathon. To achieve this I'm running and lifting weights which equals about 3 hrs in the gym or so 4-5 times a week. And now that's it's January it's half marathon season so hopefully I'll be traveling and running half marathons monthly
talk to you soon.....

today's blog is about family, heartbreak and realizing your dreams. they are all connected by not in a negative way.
so this year I got married and as a wedding gift my wife got me a dog. not just any dog but a pitbull. I have had great expiriences with this breed and have always wanted one. We did our home work and learned what we needed to know in order to raise her correctly. And yes she is perfectly trained and in fact she is on her way to being a therapy dog. Because of Stella I have been offered a job as a dog trainer and of course I took this offer. It is very rewarding to meet other people and families and help them train their dog. Likewise it is rewarding to have them meet stella because they are blown away by how well she's trained and how loving and caring she is.
I knew that pitbulls are very loyal, loving, and caring dogs but nothing prepared me for how much stella has done for me. Many people don't know that I am very ant-social, bi-polar and manic depressive. Now with the support of my wife and stella I can say i'm in the best mental health of my life with no help from drugs or doctors.
Our friend adopted a blue nose pitbull but her mom became very ill and could not help care for roxy. so we fostered roxy. this was heartbreaking because roxy and stella were two peas in a pod but our apt complex would not let us keep two dogs and our two cats. so we found roxy a new home.
Of course we battle every day with the pitbull stereotype and this breaks my heart because stella is honestly the most loving dog. hence why she is on her way to becoming a therapy dog. Just last night I was watching the National Geographic channel and they covered an update on the Vick dogs but they went into detail on what they built the case around. This just pissed me off because I do not understand how anyone can do that to a dog.
This brings us to my wife and I realizing our dreams......we want to open a dog rescue, rehabilitation and training center. The only thing stopping us is the lack of money to do so with. But we are on the 3 year plan; in 3 years we will be living our dream and rescuing dogs of all breeds with aggression issues
