I'm in Vancouver. The weather is milder. Never goes below freezing. Rains a good bit tho. There's a lot to do when the weather picks up around late April. Until then it's mostly snowboarding. If you're working construction the pay isn't as much as what you can get in Alberta. General labour or assistant/helper work starts around $12-$16. With a trade or experience it starts anywhere from $18-$30. Construction work picks up significantly in April and after the Olympics there should be plenty of it.
