It just hit me how much music has influenced my relationships. When I think about it, the more I've been able to share music with a girl the more we've grown together. The opposite works as well.
It's not even about listening to the exact same songs, but somehow the songs that are special to someone can tell you more them than you can learn from years of friendship.

The person that has meant the most to me didn't even like the same music I did, but I remember that some of the closest moments we shared were in a car singing along to the radio.

She was competely tone deaf, or at least I'm convinced she was, but that terribly off pitch voice and overly dramatic interpretation of her favorite songs told me everything about who she was. I would have listened for hours, hypnotized like a cobra in a basket.

I hear of guys being annoyed by the songs their girls listen to, and many times I will agree, most people listen to terrible music, but pay attention and you might find out that underneath the initial melody is the symphony of her soul.
