Hi folks!
Having only been in SG land for a few days, I'm absolutely loving the community. What friendly folks we have here; and what a fabulous welcoming committee I've received from so many. I'm attempting to be as active as possible, but for a girl with an almost impossible amount of free time (meaning, none), I can only say/do so much.
What am I up to?
Let's see, I've attended back-to-back-to-back births, actually, I'm currently at one now but the pregnant person is resting which gives me time to check/return emails (all 486 of them, oy) and blog here. I've got my nose stuffed in eight different text books, and the additional readings to stuff my brain to the breaking point. Between advanced sessions of human biology, anatomy and physiology, specialty classes in maternal/child health, and my beginning clinical rotation I'm feeling a bit like Linda Blair vis-a-vis The Exorcist (cue my head spinning).
I'm balancing four midwifery apprenticeships, my IBCLC rotation, midwifery and doula clients (seriously, what were people DOING nine+ months ago? Correct answer? Each other). I've got two cross-country trips planned, not to mention my partner and I will be house shopping as he's getting a promotion (99.9% positive, just waiting for the official okay). Seriously, I cannot wait to move BACK to OHIO!
I'm teaching a beginning S&M course for the local TNG (the next generation/youth) group, and re-starting the volunteer, after-school, comprehensive sexual education course for the local high schools.
I'm also working on losing the rest of the "baby weight", and so if you're also losing weight, let's be friends! Seriously, we can cheer one another on.
Hope you're all lovely.
XO
