After three days of being away (and having a horrible weekend), I finally get home and see on Facebook that the girl I fell for in Michigan has updated to her status to being in a relationship, with another guy. I don't know what happened. Last month we were together and it seemed like we were falling for each other, and then suddenly out of no where she says she is ready to start dating up there. A year's worth of build up suddenly crashes down. It has me on the verge of leaving facebook just because seeing him flirting with her on facebook is making me feel sick. I guess what they say is true, love hurts.

And once again it appears that I am on my own. Why can't anything really good happen to me? whatever

It has been pouring down rain all morning. This mainly sucks because today is the March of Dimes, so I am most likely going to get soaked. Oh well, it's for a great cause. If anyone would like to make any donations, here is the link: March of Dimes . Thanks.

As promised, a blog about the weekend. Saturday started kinda crazy. I woke up early so that I could go to Spoonful Records for Record Store Day. The store was set to open at 9 AM so I figured I would get there an hour early. Little did I know how many people would show up. There had to be at least a hundred. The line was wrapping around the block and going pretty far down the alley. Fortunately the owner is smart and decided to go ahead and open the store. I got lucky and was about to get just about all the albums that I wanted. Here's my stash:

The Dazed and Confused Soundtrack (never on vinyl and limited to 5000 copies)

The White Stripes 10th Anniversary Edition of Elephant

A couple of singles including David Bowie, The Lonely Island, and Cake

Later that morning I decided to go checkout Rob Zombie's new film The Lords of Salem. I went into this really hoping to enjoy it. I loved the other Zombie films, especially The Devil's Rejects and Halloween. I want to believe that someday he could really become a great filmmaker. The Lords of Salem had some great visual shots which is why I have hope for him. Overall though, I didn't like this movie. It seems at times that he was just going for some cheap horror tricks (if there wasn't a booming sound at the theater I probably never would have jumped). Also, the movie is just weird at times. Now I did read in an interview that this film is his homage to the old Italian horror films. The Italian horror films that I have seen I haven't enjoyed. It just isn't my genre. On that note, I feel like it is hard for me to give an honest review. At times I felt like I was watching a straight to DVD B-horror film, but I also understand that this movie was made on a very low budget. It does have its moments. I thought Sherri Moon Zombie did a great job. There are a lot of naked women. And as I said before, Rob Zombie has seem really beautifully shot scenes. I am hoping whatever movie his does next has a bigger budget and really gets some support. I do want to see him succeed and keep making movies.

Pretty much the rest of my Saturday was spent at Fourth Street Bar for the Brew Kettle Pub Takeover and watching the Crew play Chicago. Sunday went fairly well. I went out to Brothers Drake Meadery and decided to make Sunday a Bloody Mary day.

After brunch I decided to just walk up High St through the Short North. I made a pit stop at Da Levee for their Blood of Mary. It's a Bloody Mary that is roux based. Very different, but really good.

I then went to Barley's for a couple of beers and headed home. Overall a good weekend of going out, even though I was by myself. I think next year I will save up some money and check out Hell City. It looked like most of the SG community was attending. There was some drama this past weekend but I don't really feel like talking about it right now.

On a side note, this Sunday I will be walking in The March of Dimes. It's one of the only charities that I really try to raise money. If you would like to donate, here is the link to my page.

Hey SG,

Next Sunday I am walking in The March of Dimes. This week I'm trying to raise as much money as I can. Here is my link if you would like to make any donations.

I will probably be blogging about stuff that went on this week later today, including seeing Rob Zombie's new film. Catch ya later.

I'm not sure if anyone has seen this little gem:

I am torn as to which movie I am more excited for, Iron Man 3 or Man of Steel. Both look great and action packed, but the more I see out of Man of Steel, the more I want to see it. The actors are some of my faves, and both movies have some of my favorite character actors playing the villains. Thanks goodness Iron Man 3 comes out in a couple weeks because it would be rough to wait a couple of months for both films.

Does anyone want to buy a ticket off of me for CD102.5 Day tomorrow (Saturday)? With the weather getting nice and the Crew playing, I've kinda lost interest in going to the concert.

I went and saw Evil Dead last night. It was AWESOME!!! I absolutely loved it! If I hadn't known any better I would have thought Sam Raimi directed the movie himself. It just had that feel and a lot of the same camera work Raimi would have brought to the table. If you loved the original Evil Dead movies, then I think you will love this one. I can't wait to see where the series goes from here.

So Evil Dead is only two days away. I can't wait. I plan on going to see the midnight screening at Studio 35. I read an interview with the director. He is hoping that this movie does well enough so he can make a sequel that comes out around the same time as Raimi's Army of Darkness 2/Evil Dead 4, and then bring both movies together for the 7th in the series. That would be awesome!
