As soon as I realized I was two dollars short for my taco take-out tab, I immediately called upon God for help. Supposedly there aren't any atheists on the battlefield, and the same is true for the atheist who is in danger of going tacoless for dinner. The restaurant was cash only, so it was find two dollars or starve. So I prayed for quarters.
"O God please let there be quarters in my jean pockets" But there were no quarters.
"O God please let there be quarters in the laundry jar." But there were no quarters.
"O God please let there be quarters in my desk drawer." First drawer, nothing; second drawer, nothing; third drawer, nothing.
"O God please help me!" I said, opening the top drawer again and lifting up some papers. And then I saw them: 50 cent pieces. One, two, three four, five, six. Not quarters but 50 cent pieces! Jackpot! Divine windfall - all put there by the hand of a God who must love me and want me to eat tacos.
Just as I was about to become a believer, I remembered those coins couldn't have been put there by God's divine hand, since they were placed there by mine, after returning from Vegas with a grand total of three dollars in winnings (six fifty cent pieces). O Vegas, thanks for help with those tacos...

StCyr, lately I've been drinking a lot of bourbon from your neck of the woods. One day we will drink bourbon together and dismiss The Divine because, well, we can...perhaps on a front porch...
