Drunken poetry in the middle of the night that I had forgotten:
Sunset
Your eyes blurred and shadowed
The sun lies its head
Over the freeway
Your face comes to light
So purple
So gold
So supple
So bold
Did the sun set so yesterday?
Will it glow so again?
Is it you that you're seeing?
A halo of red?
Lines fade to purpose
Frames unseen
By gazing hordes
Eyes opaque dull and glazed
You sigh to the end
'A sunset,' you moan
You curse its beauty
For maggots to have fed
Regret is in haste
You had none of your own.
Sunset
Your eyes blurred and shadowed
The sun lies its head
Over the freeway
Your face comes to light
So purple
So gold
So supple
So bold
Did the sun set so yesterday?
Will it glow so again?
Is it you that you're seeing?
A halo of red?
Lines fade to purpose
Frames unseen
By gazing hordes
Eyes opaque dull and glazed
You sigh to the end
'A sunset,' you moan
You curse its beauty
For maggots to have fed
Regret is in haste
You had none of your own.
