Stop drooling at the moon,
Flat Astronaut. Stop. The
ash on the surface/ dust
unsettles as you watch
TV. You want to touch
the moon, to walk the Sea

of Tranquility, sea
of ash. Dead moon, dark moon,
moon of no dream. Can’t touch
your myth. Can’t yet see the
imagined. You must watch
Neil Armstrong kick moon dust.

Not you. You touch beach dust
pulverized by the sea
tides. Synchronize your watch,
your blood spins with the moon
orbit, your brain feels the
moon drag, bloody rag, touch

the television. Touch
the moon. Wipe off the dust
coating the men of the
Apollo launch. Fine sea
foam tugs at your feet. Moon
sands, grey sands, fade. Watch

television, yes, watch
the fast fading screen, touch
the snow fuzz crusted moon.
Flat Astronaut, spank dust
off the set. Feel no sea
undulate inside the

entertainment hutch. The
moon transmitted you watch
is light waves on the sea,
the sun reflected. Touch
beach, water, break the dust.
Know the sun lights the moon.

To All of YOU, the ULTRA LUSCIOUS:

I have created a new project called RADIO COBALT. Over the last few years, I've collaborated with multiple bands on over 350 songs, all of which have been gathering dust, as I lingered in artistic semi-retirement. Simply put, I've been expending the majority of my energy in other very productive and excellent areas of my life for the past few years. But now it comes time to bring the ART forward again, big time. With RADIO COBALT, I'm effectively re-launching my art upon the world. Starting on Jan 1 2008, I'll release one song per week, free for download, for as long as I see fit (I'm aiming to do 52 songs over 2008. I don't have anything to sell, I just want to get my art and music out to the world and heard...:

After much deliberation, I have decided that the best place to start this is MYSPACE. Some of you probably hate myspace, but it's got some features, as well as high visibility and traffic which make it very appealing to me. Plus some of the key players in my "inner circle" are already there, so it's a good place to consolidate communication on this project.

I created a new MYSPACE page for it:
http://www.myspace.com/radiocobalt

I've posted 3 songs to whet your appetite, from 3 of the different bands I've associated with : THE FLAT ASTRONAUTS, the TOMBSTONE TEETH and the EL MAXIMO QUARTET. Though I did say yes to the option that should enable to you to download them to your IPODs, the feature does not seem to be working. So come Jan 1 2008, when I launch a new song every week, I will probably provide a link to my main website www.cwcobalt.com where you'll also be able to download the song for free. I will post a RADIO COBALT blog for each song that lists the credits along with some commentary.

If you are not already on MYSPACE, I'd encourage you to join up (it's free). Operate under a pseudonym if you want to avoid the sordid ghosts from your past, and web cam spamming vixens. In this battle to revive my artistic soul, I would encourage you to leave comments frequently on the RADIO COBALT main page or my blog. Sometimes I feel like I'm creating in a vacuum and wonder if anyone out there is listening; so I bristle with joy when I see a comment!

For those of you who are actual musicians that I've collaborated with, I REALLY urge you to get a myspace musician account. You'll be able to post your latest music and your gig dates. I'm looking to build a community, especially of musical partners. Eventually I'll be setting up a RADIO COBALT group where we can have a bulletin board to trade off and develop ideas and projects.

Also take a look at my "friends" on the Radio Cobalt page. Many of them are bands or musicians that have inspired me or have inspired the bands that I've been affiliated with.

Enjoy this preview of 3 songs -- the project will launch officially on Jan 1.

Finally, please forward this to anyone you know who likes bizarre music!! Again, I have nothing for sale, I just want people to hear and be entertained by music that I've co-created.

Alas, my blog has been )and most likely will continue to be) a casualty of my new assignment taking care of the second heir to the House of Orange, AKA my new son Emerson who was born in December. In tandem with my first heir, Quentin (who is 17 months old), my priorities have been : eat, sleep and poop, with very little time or energy to work on projects (yet alone to maintain an internet presence).

I'll be making quick drive-by hits on the scene though, so though relatively quiet, I am determined to remain!

HARE EVENT

The meathook who grinds chocolate inside her
the bright bum who blights the hot gum is brighter
who sands and feeds and gloats and bags
his big head is fun and bobs as it grabs
that blond wig is fetching while seagulls are wretching
and the ocean waves viscus in spades.
I browsed past your wedding dot-matrixed in clouds
as officiates blander in verse out loud
saucing baton and metals in phase
I turn to my wife (my wife!) who quietly coughs
and music repentant, I wipe lip boogers on pliant pajamas
I stammer and roll tongue over tooth, my
calcified tastebuds scratch hull of my roof.
Your hips have planned this hairy berry.
I made so many calls trying to find the next bad thing
your wedding dress is what I'm tangled in.

I scanned, colored and tested a page on the upcoming Webcomic that I plan to launch in January. I just need to get one of my webby friends to help me out with revamping the Flat Astronaut site. Some twisting of arms and greasing of palms may be in order.

Creativity is still, ever so gently, creeping around my desktop.

Also starting to shop for my wife for x-mas (and her birthday which is Dec 28th. Jewelry is always in vogue, but I'm kinda stumped this year. Usually I am able to get her several little small surprises (books, DVD's, CD's) that she doesn't expect, but I'm having a tougher time than usual this year.

Hell, other than gift certificates, I don't know what I'm getting ANYONE this year!

Yeowch!!
The cavity I have in my furthest back left molar is screaming at me to stop eating Oreo cookies.

Been listening to the 2 albums I've been working on ceaselessly during my commute. I believe mixes are done except for six songs: 01 WHITE CHOCOLATE , 02 HOUSE, 05 TALIA, 10 MASTERSON THE BAT , 11 MARILYN MONROE'S DIARY and 12 LIVE MINNOWS.

My whole day was work, just work. Making decisions all day, interpreting statistics, being a diplomat, guiding the ship. I'm shot now. Coming home and working on my creative projects is too much overload for one corporately overcooked cranium.

Perhaps tomorrow?

Though I've traveled extensively through time, I am unable to halt my own chronologial aging process. I like to think that immortality would taste good, but it would probably corrupt me into an eternal prison of my own ennui.

Maybe I'll treat myself to some new music?

Having an 11 month old son doesn't make for a lot of time to write journals these days. However it is fun playing blocks!! ooo aaa
