So I had a busy Saturday. I worked and while the stuff we had planned to do went by SO quickly I honestly was reworking my day's schedule other things cropped up and I didn't get out til 12:30.
Saw the Hulk. Now I liked Ang Lee's Hulk but I knew going in it was an Ang Lee movie. The Hulk can be interpreted as a "dealing with internal demons" character and that's ripe Ang Lee territory. But I can also see how most people want the "Hulk Smash" Hulk which this movie delivers. It still has some introspection but at the end it's just 2 monsters beating the heck out of each other like a Godzilla film. It was fun. It's not gonna rack your brain with moral, emotional and spritual questions but it is gonna show a big CGI monster kicking the crap outta lots of stuff.
Visited mom. I had to sign some stuff to donate the Tracer, drop off a Dad's day gift and put some stuff on the computer for mom. She teaches so it's usually just a test bank but this time it was Office 2007. And it was on a dvd which her computer (5-6 years old now) does not have a drive for. I coppied the 550MB of Office (550? Why not put it on a CD?) to a flash drive and installed that. Instead of the 10 minutes I thought a test bank would take, it was a good 45.
So Pat Brower is no longer a year younger than me. He is now a wobbly, old 40 and to celebrate this momentous occasion he held a party at the Beat Kitchen which is where his X-Mas party is also held. Now for those of you who recall I had food poisoning for my birthday. I had taken a long weekend and essentially recovered in time to go back to work. Pat's shindig was set for 8pm - 3am and I had mildly tried to get some friends to come because I was sure I wouldn't know anyone and Pat would be duty bound as b-day boy and host to converse with everyone. Still with no takers, I arrived at 8:45 to discover Pat wasn't there. Where was he? Sick. He has some sort of Vertigo. I honestly didn't believe it at first and was unsure for the first hour. I was told by Steve, who I don't really know well but think he's kind of a trickster which, to a degree, also goes for Jenny. So the only other person who I knew was Mitten and either he was in on it or they were all telling the truth. Deep down the absense of Pat's parents was the real cincher. They'd still be there at 8:45. So who did I know? Really just Mitten and Jenny. Jenny was talking with another girl at one end of the bar so clearly I had to coward out and talk with Chris who I hadn't seen in years and was at the other end of the Bar. Jenny eventually came to join us (she didn't know anyone either) and the three of us talked for the rest of the evening. Mitten left around 12 and Jenny and I left shortly after that.
Jenny had a taste for PBR so I treated her to a can. mmmm.
Karen from T's, the old D&D (Drink and Draw) location.
Burnham and GF.
Eric(?), Angie(?) and Titus. A good picture of Greg for once.
Proof Chris Mitten actually came out! I still don't believe it.
