Above All Else
The Serial Blogmoirs of Christov Smith
Part 3
**In-case you didn’t notice, these blogmoirs get deeply personal. This one is no different.**
I’m a guy. (Oh, did I catch you off guard?)
The female physique is enchanting, albeit mysterious. One thing is for sure, there is nothing more beautiful than a woman.
You can take any given woman in the world, and they will be more beautiful than anything else in the whole damned universe. This is, of course, just my humble opinion. And no, its not just the smooth gloss of a woman’s skin, the plump of her breasts, and the curve of her hips (though I am an ass man for sure…ahem…). These are all definitely beautiful things. But what really makes a woman beautiful is just that, she IS a woman. (Honestly the same applies to men. But I’m focusing on women because of the topic I’m bringing up later. I may have another blog on men, some other time.)
To me, beyond what is beautiful about a woman’s exterior, more beautiful is her potential, and her power.
I’m going to go off in another direction here, because I’ve had some scrutiny over my support of “SuicideGirls.” Though I’m sure you’ll see the connection.
For those of you who don’t know, let me tell you about SuicideGirls:
SuicideGirls.com is a website that consists of “models” and other members.
Models submit photo sets of 35-60 pictures, and the community of members comment on the set. From these comments the people running the site decide which sets are put on the “Front Page.” When you (as a model) get your set put on the front page you are effectively a “SuicideGirl” and you get paid for your set, and have other opportunities through the site, such as attending events.
And yes these photo sets are nude.
I mentioned scrutiny. I may as well have mentioned porn.
I’ll explain it very simply.
SuicideGirls is not porn. It contains no penetration, and no so-called ‘Spreading’ of any… parts.
This is not to say its not sexual. SuicideGirls is definitely sexual, sensual, and erotic.
Porn is simply meant to get you off. Quick and easy. At least this is my opinion. Albeit, anyone can turn anything into porn for themselves. Does the Food Network get you off? I guess that’s porn for you.
SuicideGirls is erotic art. I’ll be blunt here, I’ve never ‘wanked it’ to anything to do with SuicideGirls. That’s not what its about for me. I wouldn’t pay $40 to get that kind of material, you can find that for free online. (lawlzzz)
SuicideGirls is all about normal women. Which is where my support comes from. These aren’t the fake barbies of Hollywood. These are our sisters, our daughters, and our mothers expressing themselves in a way they can feel positive about themselves. Some feel empowered. Some have gained back much of the self confidence and self respect they’d lost after tragic events in their lives.
But what is “normal?” When I say normal, I mean, “not-fake” like I said before. Though the site does focus on “alternative” women. Those being the women who have tattoos or piercings, though not completely necessary. (
Lumi, has no tattoos and has been a SuicideGirl since 2007). Any woman may submit a photo set as long as it adheres to the strict guidelines.
I’m going to quote some things here:
This is taken from the SG sticker:
“What some people think makes us strange, or weird, or fucked up, we think is what makes us beautiful.”
The title of the second book they released is “Beauty Redefined” which I think is very appropriate.
In the first book, Missy (Co-Founder of the site) writes:
“…I had thought of the Pin-Up era as something of the past, but that summer in Portland I decided I wanted to be a Pin-Up photographer anyway. Surely, with the proliferation of hardcore pornography and graphic sex all over the internet and cable, there wouldn’t be the same sort of widespread appeal for the understated beauty of the demure there once was, but so what? …I was going to shoot the SuicideGirls, our hipster slang cribbed from the pages of a Chuck Palahniuk novel for the post-punk girls who haunted Pioneer Square, listening to Ice Cube on their iPods, decked out in Minor Threat hoodies and miniskirts with a skateboard in one hand, a cup of coffee in the other and a backpack full of Kerouac and Hemingway slung over one absentmindedly exposed shoulder. My photography wouldn’t feature the impossibly perfect bodies of the blonde bombshells of soap operas and the Abercombie and Fitch catalog. If I was going to present images of female beauty, they would be my personal vision of femininity.”
From the main page of Suicidegirls.com (before logging in): “SuicideGirls is a community that celebrates alternative beauty and alternative culture from all over the world.”
In short. Think nothing of it, if you go to my
Instagram and don’t like the pictures. Don’t follow. I won’t be hurt, and I will probably still follow you!
I am a guy that believes in the unending beauty of womankind. I want to see women loved for who they are. I love that these women have the heart to bare themselves in the name of art and individuality. Posing nude doesn’t make someone a slut. I know a lot of the people behind the pictures are very cool, very ‘normal’, and very interesting people who deserve the respect that anyone else would get. Take into consideration the person behind the nude picture, and often the whole group of people that worked together to create this work of art.
Its about being your own person, and not loving yourself in spite of that, but loving yourself BECAUSE of it. I can only hope to one day create a single work of art as beautiful as any one picture from SuicideGirls.com
I was raised to respect women. That has never changed. I have the utmost respect for womankind as a whole. But I especially have respect for these women. They are fantastic and intriguing individuals, not letting anyone else tell them how to live their lives.
I’ve uploaded some of my favorite pictures from the site. (Some are NSFW). If you would like to see them, you can click
HERE, and you will be taken to another page with the pictures.

I have a YouTube Channel that is pretty random. It gets some gaming stuff. In fact I’m planning on doing more gaming videos. So you will hear about that! You’ll occasionally find other random things that I will post.
If you have a SuicideGirls account you can ‘Friend‘ me there.
