This is the scene in my room this morning. Daxle my partner, is asleep in my bed with not one , not two but three kittens. There is Rabbit in the middle, On the left is mouse and there is mambo sleeping by her head. I am so happy right now and my life seems to be this bright shining beacon of light and hope. Sorry kittens make me a bit sappy.
Heres the deal our friend Peggy had to go to Texas to be a health worker and help with all the hurricane rita and katrina stuff. She has been fostering these kittens through the humane society and since she was leaving, They needed a home. So we volunteered.
It's not just the cuteness of the kittens, or their soft fur, their tininess or their almost silent mews. It's this sense of purpose, of responsibility. of doing something kind and selfless for something else. I like it. I never had this sense before and it's new for me.
But then theres the way they play, sleep, run, eat, even when they poop it's adorable. I love their energy and the way they are. everything is so new to them and they all love each other so much. Rabbit is the boy, and the other two are girls. I can see now why Peggy bonded with Rabbit. He likes the human touch, the warmth. He will sit on your lap, watching the others play and just purrr and purr. Oh it's so cute it hurts.
