Last week I had to fulfill my civic duty by serving on a jury. With the other six jurors, I can say that listening to written and taped depositions can be one of the most boring experiences ever. Because the case involved a no fault insurance claim (in Michigan we have the no fault automobile accident insurance law), there was a lot of testimony from...

A fairy tale by me. smile

The Grimm Tale of Unbedeutend Karl

"On the cold and rugged coast of Maine one night, three men sat around a campfire. One stood up and said, 'Pete, tell us a story.' So Pete began, 'On the cold and rugged coast of Maine--'"

"No! Not that story again, Uncle Chuck! Tell us a real story."

"Hey! Your grandpa told me...

At last, this wretched cold spell is about to break. While the snow melts, we'll have slush and mud, but who cares? The temperatures are finally going to go above freezing, and I can chuck the ear muffs!

I've been going to Planet Rock, a local rock and roll bar, on Friday and Saturday nights to drink beer and listen to local rock bands blast...

It's been so cold outside that I've had to bring Scrappy into the house. He was never properly house broken, so this has been an exciting time. However, because he's a lab, it's been easier than I thought it would be to civilize him. He's going on 15, and I worried that it would be hard to teach an old dog new tricks. Never was...

My mom has two labs, and although I generally dislike dogs, hers are so so sweet. The youngest one does a sort of Elvis smile when he sees me, like a happy puppy snarl. So sweet!
Yay to the chemical gods! love

An Old Japanese Theme

A cherry blossom

Remembered from long ago

Warms cold autumn's heart.

I sort of wrote this for Lily because of the loss of her love.
kay:
I love Lily but I do not agree. I'm trying, but I have had killers in my life. Unresolved, and I will not harass her for such discussions.

But, you are so not kidding. Our bordello, that I did run...we were working on the dungeon.

kay:
Indeed! Everyone needs a dungeon! Good place to put relatives.

This is just an update on my dog Scrappy. He seems to be doing pretty good. His appetite is back, and we're back to our usual race around the neighborhood when we go for our walks. He even barks again! He's pretty old--going on 14--so I don't expect he'll ever act like a puppy again, but it's good to have him back to almost normal. smile
sky:
awww, good to hear smile

My dog Scrappy seems to be hanging in there. His appetite is still not like it used to be, and he only eats hamburger out of my hand. Hamburger doesn't contain all of the nutrients he needs, so I'm going to ask the vet for some vitamins. He'll probably always have the head tilt, but his walking is much better. It's the watch and wait...

Sorry to hear about your dog frown

My scooter is going well. I've only tooted at a few people and only had one lady pull the fingers at me. I should probably learn the road rules.

Dismal day! Sometime last evening my dog Happy Scrappy had a stroke. I rushed him to the vet, and the vet gave him a shot of cortisone to relieve the pressure on his brain plus some meds to ease his anxiety. Poor little pooper wouldn't eat anything till I gave him some chicken soup. He's old, so this isn't a surprise. Like me, he's just...

well, i plan on putting an audio intro onto a set soon (although probably not on the one that's waiting to go up). so people can hear my silly english accent (and maybe a laugh or two).

I'm having dreams about cold, wet, dismal weather. I can't remember the last time it rained and I can't remember the last time I didn't go home while the weather was enough to melt you. Brisbane would be slightly cooler but more humid, I'm sure - being about 1,200 miles North. surreal
I'm hoping that at some stage those spinning wheels will find some traction. Of course, to do that they have to be on the ground in the first place.

Love, like a flower,

To grow beautiful and strong

Needs enough manure.

We made it back from Sarasota last Tuesday night, and I had a sore butt and aching back from the trip. Sitting all cramped up in a Jimmy for 12 hours must not be my cup of tea!

I had fun at the fair, and as usual ran into several people I knew from other fairs. I even saw one of my old workmates from...
