Next weekend I'm going down to Pittsburgh to watch my nephew graduate. He's done very well in high school and has won a scholarship to West Virginia University School of Music to study the violin. He also won the Marine Corps Semper Fi Award this year.

Little Geordie (he stands over 6'4") has a special place in my heart. When his mom and dad broke up while she was pregnant for the little tyke, she came to live with me, and I got to be his surrogate dad for a couple of years. We had great fun hunting brontosaurs (I know--supposed to be apatosaurs) and T-Rexes in the cornfields behind the house, and watched Star Wars movies by the hour. No wonder he turned out to be a genius!
