my life has been extremely busy and exhausting for the last nine months or so, hence my absence. lots has happened in that time frame. the girl i've been dating has been so wonderful so we found a place together in Berkeley. that has gone terrificly and now we are going to get married next thursday at Burningman. if that isn't earth shaking news enough for you we will be having a baby in January to boot. we've decided against knowing the sex so its gonna be a lovely little surprise for us too. i'm sure loads more tasty little tidbits have occured but my minds a blank right now. oh well, got to go finnish packing for burningman we're gonna leave this afternoon. i'll try and post wedding pics when i get back.

i know i've fallen off the edge of the planet. but it all
because of good news. i've fallen in love, and better yet
this time the girls truely loves me as well. that combined
with my six day work week and the holidays left me with
very little by way of free time.
i've havent had a chance to read all your journals to know
whats going on in your lives but i hope all is well.
happy new year!

in honor of Maidson's new set i give you my favorite SGs courtesy of the letter M.
i know i've never around lately but i promise i've
been really busy with stuff and things.
lucky lucky lucky me
i'm a lucky fellow you see.
i work eight hours,
i sleep eight hours,
that leaves eight hours for me.

things i learned about this country as of a result of this election.
Otherwise titled as you're ill-informed and living in fear if you voted for Bush!
1. it is not exactly true that men voted for Bush and women for Kerry. actually 55% of white women voted for Bush. in fact 58% of white people voted for Bush. so forget about
sex it's really more a matter of race. every other race/color
voted for Kerry pretty overwhelmingly.
2. if you are over the age of thirty you probably voted for Bush. being over ninety myself i feel the shame. it's most
likely to do with the dangerous lifestyles we older more
progressive people live.
3. if you make over $50,000 a year you probably voted for
Bush. maybe that explains my vote despite my age.
4. if you belong to a union you probably voted for Kerry.
5. if you're a woman and you have a job you probably voted
for Bush, if you're unemployed you probably voted for Kerry.
6. education seems to have very little impact on who you
vote for, though post grad students did vote for Kerry for the
most part.
7. if your a protestants or catholics you probably voted for Bush. if you are any other religion you almost overwhelmingly voted for Kerry. in fact with those who are
religious the more often you attend church the more likely
you are to have voted for Bush.
8. if you come from a big metropolitan city you probably voted for Kerry. if you come from anywhere else you probably voted for Bush. strangely enough this held true
pretty much everywhere, including democratic strong holds
like california.
9. if you have children you probably voted for Bush. personally i found this shocking. i feel like i live in much
more threatening world with Bush in charge.
10. if you own a gun you voted for Bush like there was no
tomorrow, which if you people keep making all our descions
for us there may not be.
so the next time you see a gun toting rich protestant white man over the age of thirty that claims to come from the backwoods slap him silly.

now i'm gonna be depressed. i really didn't expect us to become that much better a nation should Kerry have won,
but at least i could naively hold out hope. now there isn't
even hope.

Tom Jonesing was great! any you living in the bay area really owe it to yourself to go see this band play. it's not just a Tom Jones cover band, the only hard and fast rule is nothing after 1974.
Ireland 32 is not a bad pub either, though they reaaly ought to turn off the tellie when they have a band performing, well realy they ought to just kill the TV's all together.
