Now for the sober update.
I am broke. Hideously, inexorably broke. I put a bunch of stuff up on Amazon earlier today, and I'm probably going to put some up on Ebay too. If you feel like helping me out, take a look:

If I can turn a profit on it, I'll ship it to you anywhere.
Im even planning on going down to Plymouth for a few days and ransacking my loft down there for good old books (and other stuff) to flog off.
The electronics based news is something of a venture that Im considering as a sideline - homebuilt headphone amplifiers/personal monitors for guitarists/miniature guitar amplifiers. As a project its quite interesting, and since doing the whole process of planning a new product out from start to finish is what ive been paying so many grand a year for the last couple of years to be taught, I might as well put it into use. Actually, I'm quite excited about it. From what Ive found of competition for this home built stuff, I can undercut quite heavily. The problem is lack of cash to get started. :/
The good thing, though, is that in the course of my research for good old vacuum tubes I've come across dinosaurs of technology that surprise. I mean, just how interesting do you expect a device that converts AC to DC current to look?

FUCKIN' A!
Weather is still hot as hell. A few days ago I went to a friends house for an afternoon and had a pretty good waterfight with cooooooold water. A godsend.
Obligatory dicking about picture:
As a side note, what is with all the friend requests from hopefuls? At least try and say hello first, thanks. Its grating on my nerves.
Vacuum tubes are used in a lot of high end (read VERY expensive) equipment geared towards audiophiles. Check out some of the magazines directed towards that market segment.
